Just a quick breakdown of all the Neutral counters currently available:
- “Blood Knight” counters Divine Shields
- “Hungry Crab” counters Murlocs
- “E.M.P. Operative” counters Mechs
- “Acidic Swamp Ooze” counters Weapons
- “Chief Inspector” counters Secrets
- “Big Game Hunter” counters 7+ ATK minions
- “Spellbreaker”/“Ironbeak Owl” counters Effect minions
- “Hemet Nesingwary” (Wild) counters Beasts
- “The Black Knight”/“Shieldbreaker” counters Taunts
- “Poisonous” counters any minion without Divine Shield/Stealth
However, there is currently NOTHING available to counter Armor. If your opponents have 20+ Armor, you’re just stuck trying to widdle it down via attacking or fatiguing. It’s already bad enough Warrior gets to use his Armor offensively WITHOUT LOSING IT! “Shield Slam” should at least subtract armor equal to the amount of damage it caused.

Agreed shield slam should lose armour when used, seems strange it doesn’t. Favouritism almost. At least could give some kind of reason as to why shield slam doesn’t lose armour when used.

The primary discussion is about a lack of NEUTRAL counter to Armor, which would apply to ANY class. “Shield Slam” is just a secondary discussion.

Like RYKFI says above me, the point isn’t about Warrior armor. The OP used just one analogy. It’s about armor in general and wanting a card to counter armor.
For what it’s worth, I’d be happy to see a card that depletes armor in some fashion.

Great idea, let’s just come out with cards that deplete armor faster just to add to the arsenal of mindless aggro decks - because they don’t like their boards cleared.

yea i agree. Need a way to counter armour but not make it just targetting druid and warrior. Can do a card like armourstraza (i mentioned in the past before). Set a hero armour to 15. Flexible for defensive use and prevent ridiculous build up of armour as a win condition.

So basically a counter to the warriors class hero power effect?, ok, in that case, i won’t a counter that makes all other hero powers a little more worthless too. Also punishing shield slam, yeah use your hero power but lose your hero effects if you use a spell… just give warrior a new hero power instead.

I’m saying this for a long time in this community, this is the nerf we need in this card.
And no, I dont agree with an armor counter, but a limitation to armor quantity like no more than 20.
lol mindless aggro decks, so now we see that you are mongo control and can only play by hiding behind armor and infinite clears
well there are several classes that can generate armor, druid, paladin, warrior and mage, thats more than the classes that have secrets and yet we get secret tech in neutral

yea the pally legendary is becoming one of the worst cards ever, I knew it was going to be a problem.

Damage counters armor.
If your deck doesn’t do a lot of damage in the early/mid game, that’s on you.

Like freeze completely makes rogue hero power useless and nullifies half of druids hero ability (of course its not the half thats op right now) ??? But there should be a minion ( stealth 2/4 for 6 mana - when ever your opponent gains health or armor you gain it too ) Also Shield slam should REMOVE the armor it uses! sorta like the priest spell that uses x mana to destroy a minion with x amount of attack.

There already is a neutral counter to armor its this thing called damage a majority of cards are able to do this.

No, it should not. The condition to make the spell work is the amount of armor the warrior has. If you’re dealing no damage to the warrior, that’s on you. If the warrior has no armor, guess what - he can’t shield slam.
