Nerf Quel'Delar in duels 8 direct dmg, 4 durability + 4 aoe

Honestly, a weapon that you draw at the start of the game and has 4 durability which does 8 damage to its targeted character + 4 dmg aoe, have you lost thr plot Blizz? An 8 bloody dmg weapon, 4 x 8 = 32 that’s, 7/8 of the heroes life. You don’t need to run bootstap scenarios to paint a pretty clear picture that this weapon is majorly op.

How does one draw both pieces (yes, I know random treasure)? I only recently got the hilt for the first time. Is this one of those “dark side of the force is the pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural” things?

That’s sort of the point.

You need to collect 2 treasures to get the blade. The hilt isn’t so great compared to many other treasures, so you’ll be potentially giving up a lot more. The blade is 1 mana so it can be pretty strong though. You’re not guaranteed to get both in any case.

That’s assuming that…

  • There are no tech cards played
  • There are no taunts or other, have-to-kill minions (i.e., The player goes face for all 4 hits)
  • The AoE doesn’t feed into anyone’s play (hello, deathrattle)
  • The player doesn’t flat out die before then (a very real possibility if you’re 4 or 5 games in)

There’s a lot wrong with duels, but Quel’delar isn’t one of them. In fact, it’s actually better than the ultra-rare treasures. At least with Quel’delar it takes time to acquire AND requires you to risk being stuck with a mediocre treasure AND offers counterplay.

You pray to RNGesus afaik. That’s all you can do.

That thing is nearly impossible to get. I’ve never collected both pieces in the same Duels run, and I’ve only had it used against me once.

I personally have never built queldalar. I have seen only the hilt or the blade. I think it’s perfect as it is. Espeically vs the priest class.
