On topic, you are maybe the most target poster here. It great you are able to handle it. Many can’t say the same.
You should share more if you can, which could indirectly help those.
It’s simple.
I care enough about the community (for reasons I myself can’t really rationalize) that I still stop by and read or make the occasional thread. This place was my first (ok 2nd, Icyveins.com was first because of WoW) place of learning about HS back when I began, so I guess part of me is just stuck here.
I have, however, come to accept that this place has also become a toxic cesspool and as a result give zero craps about others’ opinions of me, especially the more douchebaggy they get. You wanna stalk me over a digital card game about throwing fireballs at talking fish people, be my guest. That’s your time wasted, not mine lol.
A big heart and a thick skin are not mutually exclusive qualities in a person. Some ignorant buffoon who got their hands on a keyboard and an internet connection can only drag you into their stupidity with your permission. Telling yourself “nah, not today, not with this nonsense.” and closing the browser window instead of replying to someone is a perfectly acceptable - and often preferable - response to internet idiocy.
