Did you try to delete the cache files?

Delete the following folders:

  • Battle.net
  • Battle.net_components
  • Blizzard Entertainment

I gave that a shot, no go. The problem is specifically in Hearthstone, not the battle.net app.

I’ve also tried switching HS to windowed rather than fullscreen and the mouse pointer disappears as soon as you touch the HS window. It appears everywhere else.

The problem seems to be,
“Windows 11 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 26080) (26080.ge_release.240308-1400).”

I have the same problem in other games, and some Adobe apps seems to be affected from what I’ve read.
The latest Windows 11 Insider Update made a mess.

Seems about right… I updated last night when this occurred. Tried to rollback the update but the damage Is already done it seems. :upside_down_face:

I found a crappy work around.

Control Panel > Mouse Properties > Pointer Options > Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key

It’s not great, but at least I can play. Based on my other research it looks like the pointer is getting lost under the Hearthstone application. Hoping the next Windows or HS update fixes it. :frowning:

[General]
[IMPORTANT NOTE FOR GAMERS – UPDATED!] Most popular games should work correctly again in the most recent Insider Preview builds in the Canary and Dev Channels. Please be sure to submit feedback in Feedback Hub on any issues you see with playing games on the latest builds.
[UPDATED] We’ve made some more changes to help reduce the number of rollbacks (with error code 0xC1900101) when installing the latest builds and are continuing to investigate reports. If your PC rolls back trying to install this build, please file feedback in Feedback Hub.
In some cases, the File Explorer context menu no longer has the acrylic effect. This will be fixed in a future flight.
We’re investigating reports of mouse cursor issues after installing Build 26058+, including that the cursor is disappearing in some apps. If you’re experiencing issues, please file feedback describing exactly what you’re seeing under Input and Language > Mouse in the Feedback Hub. This build includes a number of fixes to help with recent reports.
When opening the context menu in File Explorer, the icons may appear out of place and overlapping text.
[NEW] Running the command “sudo pwsh” won’t work properly in this build.

okay i have a workaround that works for me, its not great but it works.

install microsoft powertoys → go to mouse settings → and activate the crosshairs, this way you always see where your cursor would be

you can change the settings of appearence too i set mine to white and made it fade a lot, its okay

Thank you for this! Forgot this feature In Powertoys!

the funny thing is if you stream hs the cursor is shown, so it has to be in the display layer of the .net framework or something

Same Problem, any fixes now? I dont like workarounds…

When playing other games, I also encountered the same situation. I hope Microsoft will address this issue in the next system update. :face_exhaling:

also having the same issue. No cursor at all in the Hearthstone window.

Why doesn’t my crosshair follow the mouse after entering the game?

Just wanted to say I’ve had the same issue, started 5 days ago but completely 100% the same issue. I did find a “fix” that doesn’t involve downloading anything. You have to go to your windows update in settings and find where it says to “Go Back”. Just went back on my last windows update and I can now see my mouse cursor again in HS. Must be some compatibility glitch in the update or something? Hope this helps!

I have same issue, also on dev insider build 26080.

Appreciate this. Tried; though, I couldn’t find a “go back” feature. I was able to get in touch with Microsoft support very quickly and – to my dismay – they exclaimed that one cannot roll back to non-Windows Insider program without uninstalling Windows.

For example, after opening the “Windows Update” section (in Settings) → if you click “Stop getting preview builds” → “Unenroll this device immediately,” it forwards you to an article which essentially explains how to reinstall Windows.

Anyways, after speaking to the Microsoft rep, he recommended I make a post on the Windows Insider Program Tech Community forums, and so I did.

In viewing the Windows Insider Program Tech Community forums, I learned that it’s not just Hearthstone that exudes a missing cursor within build 26080; it’s also Adobe Illustrator. Another user posted about this build 26080 x Adobe Illustrator on the front page.

Hopefully it’s fixed “soon” …!

I went to settings, searched “Windows Update” and got to that menu in settings. Then clicked “Advanced Options”, under additional options clicked “Recovery” and under recovery options hit “Go back”.
Might be different for other computers but that was my exact path to find it.
I heard other games were affected to like Baulders gate 3 but only game I was having issues with has HS. Tried opening a ticket with Blizzard and waited 3 days before I got a reply with no helpful information to fix the issue…So figured I’d post about what finally worked for me lol

Ah. I totally see that “Go Back” you’re talking about now. Thanks for giving the exact route you took to get there.

I’m gonna do this, I think. “CBA” uninstalling Windows…!

Personally, the only reason I installed the beta/Insider Version of Windows was because I wanted my taskbar to NOT “combine taskbar buttons and hide labels.” I’m old school and love each app to have its own space in the taskbar, with the full app name visible. Pretty sure this feature has since made it back into the production version of Windows. No need for Insider program any longer (for me, not sure for others).

Cheers, thanks again.
