All these neutral Collosals really make me want to run Big Warrior. Not to mention that Ozumat is a solid beast for Big Beast Hunter.
The one advantage that Neptulon has over Onyxia is that it threatens 24 damage next turn if all three parts of the Neptulon survive.
But Neptulon gets worse if only one Hand survives since itâs capped at 12 damage.
And of course, as you describe, Neptulon is much easier to remove.
For Neptulon to work really well, youâd need to have some way to copy him and get both on board at the same time.
Sure but we all know that past turn 10, two 4/2 will never survive.
Itâs still a windfury 7/7 though, but again, past t10, itâs very unlikely to survive. Way easier to clean that an Onyxia.
Ozymat is weird.
As the one who plays him you want to kill him asap without losing the tentacles.
And since the tentacles are more squishy than him, it seems like you have to jump through hoops for a board clear.
The classes that can easily remove him as they play him (warrior as an example) have better board clears.
The best play i can think of ATM with Ozymat is from a beast hunter deck that follows up the play with a Devouring Swarm. Kill their board and leave you with some minions and Ozymat in hand for another go.
Isnât there a weird interaction that forces apendixes to hit before the colossal body ?
Not sure. I would assume it counts the minion itself as being played first. If not then yeah it wonât work.
The fact that itâs a minion that has a Battlecry, a tribe and premium stats (aggressive at 5/4) makes me think itâll see a lot of play. Especially in aggro decks. Turn 4-6 are usually when you see big board clears. It gives you a chance to snipe your opponentâs answer to your board with this card. And oftentimes, delaying the big answer by a turn can win you the game.
Just tested, the colossal body always attacks first.
Precisely the opposite. A minionâs Battlecry resolves BEFORE it enters play, and I presume Colossal works the same way. Devouring Swarm has the minions that entered play first attack first.
edit:
oops
Just tested against the Innkeeper, the Colossal body attacks first. Since itâs colossal keyword and not Battlecry, it doesnât work quite the same.
Thatâs good to know and makes devouring much better in the deck overall. Now to hit the big guy with a harpoon and get that sweet discount.
No problem, the colossal mechanic is very easy to confuse with a Battlecry since 90% of the time, the colossal minion is summoned from the hand.
So itâs normal we all transfer the counter intuitive behavior of the battlecry mechanic to colossal minions.
Hitting it off the Saber would be pretty sick early as well.
With hunter, youâre more often the aggressor than the one getting pressured, so a clunky board clear seems really unuseful
I was thinking of a more control oriented Hunter style deck instead of an overly aggressive one. Otherwise yeah the card doesnât make sense in a normal beast hunter deck of today.
Never seen one âcontrol hunterâ in my life, I hope Iâll live old enough to see that one day ahaha.

The coilfang will be amazing I think. As said before, most tech cards only counter a specific deck or minion type. This one gives you a 5/4 body, which is really good for a tech card, and can help against any deck, in any deck.
I swear Iâve seen the bubble elemental as a fan made card on Regisâs channel before.
