Title. Is the mini set worth 2000 gold or should I just get the cards from the 20 Barrens packs I can get with that much gold?
the last mini-set gave you 4 legendaries, compare this to packs where you in average get one in 20 packs. so if they have the same ratios this time its definitely worth buying the miniset over 20 packs
edit: this miniset do indeed include 4 legendaries aswell

The new cards have just come out in the library on the official website, only druid and warrior have won legendary cards, in general very weak mini-set and will not alter the meta game! I expected something good for shaman and for the warlock, only one interesting card came for shaman, the rest is crap! I was pissed at the OTK wizard in wild mode, and more cards came to strengthen this deck!! Sadness!! In wild mode we will all be wizards!!

Well, yes, but I mean in terms of card quality. Are the epics, rares and legendaries worth it compared to buying 20 packs?
No, overall the set seems preeety weak, most of the cards are really really bad, dont have really impactful effects,i would suggest you to wait until the meta re-defines (if it does lol) and just craft the common and some rares maybe but in general the set is horrenduos

I only liked two cards from this entire collection. I think I can make good use of the legendary murloc in the shaman class. The other card I found interesting is from the shaman class.
you get 4 legendaries that you can also get in the card packs, what more worth do you want compared to on average 1 legendary in 20 packs? if nothing else you still get a lot of dust compared to what you would get from 20 packs

In terms of cards quality: the miniset doesn’t look too good.
If you want one of the 4 legendary, it is still worth to buy it.
If you spend 2000 gold on barrens pack: you will probably find every common/rare of the miniset (assuming you have all the others).
You may find more epics (maybe 4-5), but with 2K gold you could dust 4 legendaries to make 4 epics of your choice, or a legendary of your choice.
Unless you don’t have a full common/rare barrens set, I think it is still worth it to buy the mini set, or as an alternative, keep the gold for the next expansion

Well, I don’t have the full rare package from the Barrens, but I will still have some gold left to buy a pack or do an Arena run and can always dust duplicates, so is that a good idea still?
Probably yes; but 2K gold for 4 legendary is a good deal.
I would still buy it.
If you need one of the 4 legendary, it’s worth it.
If you don’t need them: you can disenchant them and craft one leg of your choice.
I don’t know what to tell you; maybe you can buy normal packs now (before the miniset release) and you decide later if you want to buy also the miniset

I agree with it being a good deal. If you plan on using any of the 4 legends in a deck that makes it worth it. As far as dusting everything I’m not sure what the exact amount that would equal.
The question is whether or not to use the gold or pay for it outright.
I try and use gold mostly for full expansion sets. I usually stay ahead of the curve by starting to save all my gold 1 week after a full set is dropped.
If I can buy 50-75 packs with gold when a full set is dropped I usually get most of the cards I need with maybe having to craft just a few others.
In this case I will just spend the 2k gold as I plan on trying 2 of the 4 legends in some of my decks.
it can also be added that 2 of the legendaries are already included in grandmaster decks
Even if you don’t like any of the legendaries in the mini-set it’s probably still worth it since that will reduce the legendary pool by 4 (even if you dust them), increasing your chances of getting a good legendary on your next pity timer.

You mean if we dont buy the set, it goes into the pool that can be opened in packs when you buy the Barrens packs?
Yes, if you don’t own all of the cards from mini set, you will pull them out from regular Barren’s pack. So I would spend 2000 gold to get the complete set of cards from mini set, so next time when I open barren’s packs, I am guaranteed to get cards which I am missing.

This is a good point. If you don’t want the cards you still might get them from random packs anyways, so you may as well buy the set if you can afford it.

Yes, on that basis, I went to buy it cos it’s definitely more worth it to buy with 2k gold than to get them in packs.
