I’m at a weird place with HS. I don’t hate the meta, there is no outlier deck that is feelsbad to play against, except for maybe swarm shaman, but nearly every deck feels fairly balanced.
But I also feel … apathy. The game, the meta, it feels like we are in the nth recycled form of the same thing on repeat, like watching a looped movie play with slight variations in the plot. How long can one keep interested in such a thing? I mean for crud’s sake, handbuff paladin is back in like T2 or T1??! And so is swarm paladin. Why ARE THESE EVEN REMOTELY PLAYABLE??
Anyhow, wondering if anyone found any truly interesting decks to play out there, but nearly everything out there is a just a slight change to some deck that’s already existed and been played to ad nauseam, and don’t tell me rogue is unique. It’s not.
I feel the same. Although don’t say too loud that there isn’t anything particularly op in the meta that needs nerfing or some people will want your head on a pike here lol.
It’s a fine but extremely stale meta. If StarCraft miniset wasn’t coming up my interest in Hearthstone would have dried up by now.
I don’t know If you gonna like the answer but It is because you finally done it.
The bogeyman is no more.
It used to distract you from that and give people a New flavor to play.
Sincerely…
The playerbase kinda deserve this.
While it is not player’s fault for devs design those players insisted until in fact you were 100% forbid to make someone “feelbad” despite of the deck in question being balanced or not.
Enjoy.
I personally using the foruns Far more than i even try to play the game lately.
I Just don’t want.
Well, weapon Rogue kinda is. I’ve never seen anything like that. Aggro gameplay which feels like flow
It might get boring soon, but if you never played it, you’re missing on a lot.
Well, this is why I took multiple 1-year breaks from HS xD
If you play for as long as I do (which you probably do xD), you get used it, and you learn to appreciate every new, original thing they come up with (for example, Tourist mechanic), because you know if it wasn’t that, it’d just be another meta that is a copy-paste from season 1-2.
Meta’s like this is why I play -random card Rogue- aka Excavate -sometimes when I bother to play Rogue upon logging in-
Because it’s like the one class that uses some newish* cards not by choice but by the nature of randomness. Not like the other classes are interested in using new tools so /shrug.
I’ve pretty much gone back to playing just hand buff Paladin at this point. It’s got some flexibility in what you play in it and it can create hard to remove boards. I’m actually playing the Worg in my version and it’s really good against aggro decks.
Is it just me or do you think handbuff is better than libram?? I don’t have to worry that much with libram unless they have lynessa, but with handbuff I have a hard time tracking the opponent hands and most of them run tech cards since they can afford to do it which makes it difficult to face in ladder.
It’s more consistent overall. The libram deck NEEDS to draw it’s weapons or it just flat out loses. If it gets it’s weapons on curve one after another it is clearly the better deck. If i don’t draw my weapon with hand buff i still have a good game going with minions while libram will flounder.
Libram also has severe issues with very aggressive decks.
Yea I saw that, people always hard mulligan for weapon or the goblin tutor whenever I play one, but if you somehow able to overwhelm their board each turn either by tempo or by removals unless they got lynessa this deck just doesn’t have what it takes to close the game. I mainly play rogue (starship, cycle and pressure points), aggro shaman and Zarimi priest after this patch, handbuff paladin is one of the hardest matchups I have faced so far.
Because there’s so much mid and aggro ATM and of course Paladin i started playing this in Buff Paladin. Even one buff to it is powerful. More allows it to keep a board under control even with buffs on them.
I wouldn’t say Paladin is better than tier 2 in any form but i don’t like how high roll the Libram is with getting the weapon. Of course with instrument tech it feels a lot like the old DH weapon deck. That was never a favorite of mine to begin with.
I haven’t seen Hearthstone meta for the past 5 years mainly playing battleground at that time, from what I’ve heard wasn’t demon hunter playstyle revolves around aggro archetype with some otk finisher?
Handbuff Paladin is back because they killed Conman, nerfed Reno and realized Libram Paladin is still too weak to be competitive. It is that simple, ppl are looking for the strategy which is still working thats all. The current meta won’t change much until the rotation take place I am affraid. There are just too many AOE’s in the game and removers are still a problem. Librams need a small board atleast and don’t have required tools to keep it up or get more resources to create more minions than the enemy can clear out… still not viable.
If you are fed up with the repetition of constructed, you might want to try Arena. And no it’s not mostly cheaters; I’m pretty sure most people who see cheaters there see false positives; they lose easily and they don’t want to admit it’s their skill doing it.
Arena is purely anti-constructed and anti-netdeck by design. In fact it’s so much anti-netdeck that it harms it a little; we need a new semi-constructed Format; e.g. select a synergy pack (like exca) and then draft the rest of the deck.
I played against a funny Amalgam-Buff Rogue list with Goldbeard the other day. Basically the guy tried to cycle his deck, gave an Amalgam all the Buffs from the magnetic sparks, then added the new “give all murlocs draw a card” effect from this weird new murloc card. In the end the Amalgams more or less drew themselves. He topped it off with Goldbeard + Amalgams for a swing and adding even more Amalgams to the pool. Quite fun, but I got my Amalgam silenced the first time I even tried the deck.
Another way to not be totally bored, is to play a rotation of all the netdecks you have cards of and play only 1 each match at a time. It doesn’t hurt ranking at all if you do it at the start of month especially.
E.g. today I made 19 netdecks. After 6 games I had 67% win rate so it’s not like you forget how to play just because you don’t always play the same 1 deck.
There is July’s card back in my collection, though, I might have played just for it… So apparently I remembered more or less correctly.
Some reports I’ve looked at featured more of the same usual suspects: satanic goat Zarimi, the same old OTK Nature Shaman (!) — maybe not right now, but a bit earlier, ‘pain’ Warlock… PS Oh, and Odyn Warrior with minor additions from newer sets, of course.
