Is there an easy bounty in mercenaries where I can easily farm the “destroy 40 minions” quest? Such as bosses who keep summoning more minions.
Mad Summoner in Felwood summons an imp every turn and never attacks. It’s not a boss, it’s a random encounter. I recommend looking for him on Felwood 6.
He usually appear in the first (Blue) node in Felwood 6, That Mad Summoner summon demon too (so it help with the destroy 40 demon).
if you kill to fast:
Bring Cookie, spawn Fishes as enemy
Bring Blink Fox (Double Blink fox refresh menthod-Link), and Blink fox mind thief can steal the summon skill and summon more enemy thus help speed up the progress.
With The double Blink fox, i did most of my task in Felwood 6 at the Mad Summoner node in 1 fight (Usually the first node, just retire if not)
Corrupted Ancient and Frostlord Ahune.
Honestly for most there’s only one way to slug it out, as mentioned there are some npc spawn encounters, such as the imp where they have a 50 50 chance to summon a 25 hp imp every turn, but i think if you do bounty grinding, you can easily go it on the way.
There’s also a splitting ent encounter that summons a 1/1 ent with +1/1 for every ent that dies that can easily get up to the +6-17 range, where aoe like millhouse or geddon / Krush can work to a limited extent. It’s a lot of minions, but if you push it too much you might risk getting overwhelmed a bit. But it’d be a quick 10-20 credit battle. The problem is just the time to get there.
I’d honestly just do it the normal way though and just kill some lowbie minions. It depends on the team, but you can always just farm a easy map through a millhouse aoe blender. He one shots, it’s one button, and you can farm coins for him extremely easily off 2 minute low bounties and max arcane explosion + aoe dust in a day for 8-12 damage aoe. if you have less, just spam it twice and it’ll work.
If you have a bit more, fire combo or holy comps i hear work great. If the mobs are under 40-41 hp though, I find that next to Samuro, King Krush’s Turn one 19-20 damage attack chains are incredibly surprisingly f2p devastating and he’s probably feels to me, for purposes of aoe grinding, even better than samuro by far for 1 turn felwood lvl 28 bounty grinding. (1 turn kills vs 2-3 turn targets).
Most epics are hard to level but King krush is extremely effective off just the +8 attack gear and upgrading his abilities can unironically be considered completely optional outside of +1/5 or 18/18 rush devilsaur shenigans (that often can get 2 attacks for 36 damage). King krush is arguably a underrated f2p obtainable merc for any f2p doing f2p bounties. You can easily farm a millhouse ± varden to get into 10-22 global aoe range, and add in a king crush for global 41-42 damage first turn aoe.
He loses hp trading and falls off on higher hp, but a instant turn 1 death to anything at or below 41-42 hp Is incredible for the felwood grind and while he diminishes as hp pools rise, he still seemed good enough to complete normal blackrock for me.
It might be a bit overkill, and if one has fire comp, it’s entirely skippable. But if anyone wants.
I’ve been transitioning from Xyrella Samuro → Millhouse + Varden (aoe)/ Samuro (Arcane nova trigger 1-2 turn boss kills) + Krush builds.
I think there’s probably a fair chance Krush could or should work with fire builds if you don’t level his first attack past 6-7 speed too. (If you max it to 5 speed, he caps with varden, but it’s still a 1 turn kill to all of felwood 28, so eh.)
Just to add, mad summoner usually comes with doubling imp, and blink fox can copy the doubling imp attack for 2 speed with mind thief, and hence there’s a double blink fox situation where one can refresh the other’s refresh, hence refreshing and speeding up abilities every turn
