Mechashark doesnt need a nerf

Mage is finally decent so there is no reason to nerf mechashark, the card is easy to play around, just build board so they cant kill you.

Hopefully blizzard doesnt ruin the card and make mage unplayable again because ppl have deep hatred for mages

Hard to build a board when your opponent has a mechashark on it.

What this guy said he speaks the truth

There’s no reason to nerf Mechashark because it’s only powerful with the mana discounts from seaway. If there’s a card to nerf it’s seaway.

Mate it needs a nerfing same with the mages colossal card

It does need a nerf when you can drop 2/3 reduced cost Sharks the same turn and deal over 9+ damage alone from vomiting your hand while leaving behind bodies your opponent has to deal with or die to chip damage

If mechashark does get needed mage still has the Naha package

Both Naga Mage and Mech Mage needs tuning (Siren, Mecha-shark, Seafloor Gateway).

The Shark needs major nerfing, in fact the card needs to be reworked to not deal any damage to face. for the same reason that pen-flinger got nerfed to not be able to ping face.
I disagree that Seafloor Gateway is the only problem here enabling discounts.

We’ve seen time and time again that minions that can immediately go face after hitting the board are a major problem. Mechashark basically can go face, and board clear.

Meanwhile illidari inquisitor and mr. Smite are still unnerfed :joy:

Dear God… Get off of it. It can be deadly and it’s basically Mech Mage’s win condition. Nerfing this card might just kill the deck. This deck, in my perspective, is reasonable. It is not unfun to play against. It’s also really fun to play. Let it go, guys.

It’s worth noting this card is around the fourth best card to mulligan. It’s also about third or fourth in played winrate. If you want to complain, aim for the cards that are possibly problematic, i.e Seafloor Gateway.

As of now, I don’t believe this deck needs to be touched.

i could see seafloor gateway going to 4 mana.
Incanter’s flow was still playable at 4, Deck of lunacy was still playable at 4, refreshing spring water was still playable at 5.

Fake news. We don’t care because they aren’t scamming us with Incanter’s flow/ Deck of Lunacy.

Well…

They still not that good and people still asking for nerfs.

So i guess you can only talk by you.

The amount of reeing over Warrior and Druid atm compared to Mage is astronomical.

Basically the rule is if something sees play, someone, somewhere will demand nerfs.

I see more threads about how Mage shouldn’t be nerfed, or about ‘aNtI-mAgE bIaS’ than Mage hate.

I guess i helped create a Monster too.

People just don’t know when to stop.

But the mechashark threads actually get on my bad side a little based on the historic and i confess that if i even see a mechashark nerf i gonna start despite that community because it gonna be proof that it’s literally about being mage.

How is it that no one who wants Shark nerfed gets this is a buff? This just improves how consistently Shark deals with boards, which is often what it’s being played to do in the first place.

You’re joking, right. What makes Mecha-Shark obscene is precisely the fact that it can go board or face, aka flexibility depending on board state. If there is no board, not only does it build a board, it also deals additional damage to face. If you can’t clear it in the early game, you’re taking 3 extra damage every time a mech is played. It’s very similar to pirate Cannoneer in that regard (4 extra to face).
it needs to not deal damage face, and it will be much more tolerable.

No. I’m not. What makes Shark so obscene is the massive tempo swing, not the face damage that the Mechs themselves will cause in a turn or two anyway.

Taking 3 face damage every time a mech is played means nothing. The relevant event in this play is the extra body on board, and Shark is more dangerous here if it can’t hit face because this way you cannot even establish a board to contest the Mechs. The Mechs will kill you regardless of the burn. You will not kill them unless you have removal spells because Shark is guaranteed to chip away at your board with no chance of whiffing on your face every single time.

If it cannot deal face damage, it always hits your minions, preventing you from contesting it and setting you even further behind. Mech Mage players no longer need to gamble with early Shark plays to hold the board against lots of pressure - your proposed “nerf” guarantees they take the board back fully on every one of those plays and can establish a threatening board presence much earlier because they don’t need to wait on a big combo turn to make sure they clear your board.

Indeed. I’ve had matches where Mecha-shark was at the bottom of my deck and it was the wrong card to dredge and I still won. The deck doesn’t need any nerfs at all. Some players just want to take the strategy out of the game.

If you’re playing Mecha-Shark for the face damage you’re playing some terrible otk deck in Wild, not Mech Mage.
