Max Background Frames Per Second Uncapped

you are going to end up blowing out people GPU’s because they are hitting 1000 FPS when the game is in the background while playing in windowed mode.

Hey there,

So hardware should never fail due to software unless there is already an unrealized issue with the hardware itself. There are multiple Bios level, Hardware level and OS level safety mechanisms in place to prevent damage to the system. All of these have to fail (usually at the Bios or Hardware level in order for anything the game does to cause damage.)

Most games will use all the resources the system will allow and because Hearthstone is not very resource intensive it can result in very high FPS numbers. High FPS itself is not an issue it just means the game is performing very well on your machine.

However if you are experiencing issues with performance or stability on the system, you definitely want to have your drivers, OS and hardware looked over to ensure everything is installed/updated functioning normally.

Then you want to check for potential issues like Overheating which means there is an issue with the system cooling or the hardware itself that is causing it not to throttle properly to maintain temps.

Now as for capping FPS, That is definitely a suggestion worth making in the General Discussion forums but another thing you can do is enable vsync/freesync options for your display or within the GPU control panel to limit any program to match whatever refresh rate you have and have a more controlled/stable FPS.
