Manathirst not applying to coin mana crystals

that doesn’t make sense.

it’s a very few amount of people that have the craving to play this game, wrong opinions by the devs about their own rules has always been an issue with hearthstone.

the wiki:

Manathirst (X)
A bonus if you have X Mana Crystals.

you created this and you are wrong about it. i doubt this was something like an oversight. you saw one of the primary features of the game (coin) and elected for it to not take effect with this other feature.

I usually complain about a lot of things of the game, but this is working as intended.

This is pretty consistent with past cards and mechanics. The coin gives you 1 mana this turn, not 1 mana crystal.

Coin spells don’t count towards manathirst. If it did, it would be broken.

You are incorrect. That’s not what the card says. The Coin (as well as Innervate) gives you “One Mana Crystal This Turn Only”. So it does give you an actual Mana Crystal. We do understand how the Manathirst mechanic works in actual gameplay. But Ocelot has a fair point that the text of Manathirst is not truly accurate and is very misleading.

The text on the coin has been wrong for years, it’s a known bug that’ll never get fixed. No effects that check mana crystals have ever counted the temporary mana from the coin or innervate because that’s just mana, not a mana crystal. It’s no different from how a card that says “cast some random spells” won’t trigger effects that say “when you cast a spell, do something”. The text isn’t bound to line up with the code, it’s just some words that someone hastily wrote despite having months to get it right.

Temporary Mana is not equivalent to Permanent Mana. Think of mana as a fraction, like x/n where x is the current unspent mana and n is Permanent mana crystals. Temp mana does not work with Manathirst, as if you have 5/6 mana because you are overloaded, it still counts the total mana as 6, or if you spend 1 mana and go to 5/6, then coin, you will be back at 6. Going to 7/6 mana with the coin does not trigger manathirst, as the permanent mana is still 6. In the game, you will see mana as a fraction, and bottom of the fraction affects manathirst.

you will not find this out until you are informed or you witness it

this isnt yugioh, we dont do what the card says here

I still feel like that’s normal, because it only applies to the mana of crystals are in the earned column, not spendable column
