So Mana Bind copies Flare, rather then Flare doing exactly what the card says it does and what it has been intended to do since day one?
We are a week from a whole new season and you guys still can’t get basic things like writing a card properly.
Does Flare remove Counterspell? Because if it doesn’t, then the interaction is clearly consistent (and working as intended).

The interaction is working correctly, for the same reason counterspell stops flare too. Wording.
When/whenever = effect triggers BEFORE the event that triggered it. Example, Archmage Antonidas triggers “whenever you cast a spell”. If you cast polymorph on him, he will give you a fireball before he is turned into a sheep.
After = effect triggers AFTER the event has resolved. Example, Wild Pyromancer triggers “After you cast a spell”. If you fireball him, he will take damage and die and he will NOT trigger his aoe effect as he has already been removed from the field.
Mana Bind triggers When your opponent casts a spell, so it will trigger and resolve before the Flare can destroy it.

So will spells like Never Surrender also be immune to Flare?

I hate this bug so much. I would love flare to be viable but against mage its almost useless. I would love blizzard to actually do something about this, but let’s be honest here, blizzard has gone down hill the past few months, though that shouldn’t matter. I doubt they will ever fix this though. It’s a shame cool card design gets neglected but sheer laziness.
It’s not a bug. Flare is a spell, so playing it will trigger Counterspell/Mana Bind. This is the cards working as intended.

COUNTERSPELL …should and does stop flare…why wouldn’t it? why wouldn’t you want it to?
I have never understood the camp who thinks flare should stop counter spell…
