Mage Quest: Raid the Sky Temple

Hopefully next standard rotation isn’t garbage clown fiesta.

Since I started getting bored of Warriors and Hunters lol

Cajones are for playing Flamenco.

If Wardrum got some Cajones :+1:

I prefer Congas myself.

I actually do have one. Even has a small foot pedal installed in the side for disengaging the snare wire from the front of the box.

I usually prefer playing my Djembe though. Had it for 13 years now.

Correct me if I’m wrong but Zentimo spells trigger things like overload buffs, actual overload, and on–spell cast effects.

We have nothing rotating out right? This quest is insane in current Cyclone mage as we only have to remove one card for the quest.

After that just spam one Cyclone turn and then generating Conjurer after Conjurer for 1 mana.

Except, currently almost all the standard mage spells are quite good. Worst you could probably get is a a pyroblast you can’t unload immediately.

It’s possible that I’m just thinking of Electra, but I don’t believe Zentimo’s extra casts of OL spells will trigger Unbound Ele or Thunderhead additional times. I’ll test it when I get time later.

Even that’ll be castable same-turn if you’re at 10 mana, or be a nasty surprise on turn 8 or 9 for your opponent.

Hence the need for some niche (not bad) mage spells to dial down the power of the RNG. Same with Boom. Warrior needs some niche mechs.

Dragon Ward:

2 mana: Draw 2 Dragons from your deck.

Mage equivalent to Ice Fishing for Hagatha decks last year.

Update to my previous comment.

Had Zentimo and Unbound Elemental on the board, used Zap on a trio of minions. 3 mana crystals overloaded, Unbound only boosted once, leaving it a 3/5 after all three casts.

This is a sort of Hagatha for Mage.

But unlike Hagatha, its spell requirements don’t make it conducive to a control deck.

Mage is more limited at developing boards with spells than Shaman is, but better at killing/disrupting enemy boards and doing face damage.

For context Mana Cyclone deck runs 15 spells and can generate 10 more with Bananas, Magic Trick, CC, and Ray of Frost; plus however many they pull from cyclone. This Quest deck will happen on day 1, be ready.

Freeze Mage also runs 15, and generates 4 with CC and Ray of Frost. Is Quest good enough :man_shrugging:

right now im praying for a good rogue quest ^^

Ritual of Imhotep
1 Mana
Spell
Play 6 Deathrattle cards
Reward: Set’s Sarcophagus

Set’s Sarcophagus:
2 Mana: Give target minion Reborn

How is that for the Rogue Quest? :man_teacher:

Wow… Mage Hero Power has way too much RNG…

It will feel pretty bad pressing 2 mana button to get an unplayable spell dispensed.

yes its worse then hagatha I think, having to spend 2 mana beforehand.

Good old Hearthstone. Why spend time coming up with an interesting mechanic when you can just slap RNG on something. Things like this is why I don’t really play this game much anymore.

You can count on 1 hand the number of Mage Spells that would be worse than your base Hero Power and that includes the entire Wild card pool. It fits into an archetype that’s already pretty good. Looking forward to the future Nerf Mage Quest threads as this Quest looks to be about as good value generation as Deathstalker Rexxar but instead of Lifesteal Zombeasts keeping you alive forever you find face damage to end the game sooner.

B) a smile of pride on my face
