Mage card draw is out of control

Rigged fair game, free 0 mana draw 2 cards, incanters flow into more draw etc etc.

In what world does balance even try to exist when mages can draw basically their entire deck by turn 10.

What’s even the point of playing anything but face hunter and secret paladin?

How do you feel about Octobot into field contact? Rogues can draw half of their deck in a single turn. Especially if they’ve previously shadowstepped the field Contact or a Foxy Fraud.

The balance that mages have little to no powerful card to draw into.

Hunter, Paladain, also Warrior, also Priest, also Rogue. Oh, and the rest of the classes are more or less competitive as well, with the exclusion of Shaman.

If you think Mage is unbalanced, you understand nothing about the game.

I think I’ve seen 2 rogues in my past 25 games or so; they’re not really a meta player by the looks of things at the moment.

Great sample size Batman!

Viscous syndicate’s most recent meta update would like a word.

mage draw out of control? when rogue draw on turn 9 whole 30card in standard mod …really mage???

Until the discover mechanic is reworked (it needs to be a static set of cards or force a discard for every card you discover) Mage will always be imbalanced.

To be fair their report in kinda sad because.

For 90% of the playerbase mage is actually dead.

But you really can pick and have sucess in legend ranks.

And; once again, another Mage complaint. It’s so tedious being right all of the time…

I’m glad not everyone moans about complaints against their favorite class as much as you do. This board would be 20% complaints and 805 complaints about complaints.

Maybe miracle burst mage is an archetype they want to support.

Remember that incanters flow and refreshing water only works optimally in a full spell mage.

Leave space open for archetypes and play what you want. Spell only mage won’t survive forever and won’t be supported more; just like pure paladin, elemental shaman and probably many other archetypes.

In every meta there will always be 1-2-3 decks that are better than all the others.

With that said the amount of complaints against mage aren’t normal either.

He can be tiresome but…
You did see any decks get so much rate without even getting to tier 1?

I only remember very specific cases like razakus priest , crystal core rogue and tickatus warlock.

I know you have a lot of insight into the class based on your posts and I’m actually genuinely curious what your opinion is on mage card draw.

I didn’t necessarily say that mages are op, but that their card draw is. The issues with balancing a class that can draw their deck at twice the rate most other classes can is that you can really pick and choose individual cards in order to tone everything down and make it seem “fair”. With mage right now, they can play 6-7 cards on turn 5 and still have mana leftover plus a full hand, which just innately to most classes feels imbalanced.

Wouldn’t you rather see mages card draw nerfed and buffs pushed through elsewhere to compensate? Grinder mage/Reno mage if old were some of my favorite mage decks ever and they did just fine without all the draw.

Is this a class identity issue?

this feels like complaining just to complain about something
nothing on the OP aabout which specific deck hes complaining about

i cant think on 1 deck running all that card draw
to do what ?

cthun? is he complaining about a cthun deck ? or what ???

Mages are not very strong overall right now in the meta, they don’t even place in tier 3

I honestly don’t know. I don’t design cards and rarely try to pretend I know enough to suggest improvements.
Mages most certainly are not OP. Their card draw is good enough to keep them at tier 3/4
Having the best draw is a new thing for mages to the best of my knowledge,
although I believe there are other classes capable of drawing just as well, they merely do it in a different fashion.
The only real insights I can offer on Mage is that no matter what tier they are they catch an enormous amount of complaints.
Players seem to only want minion based decks and if they lose to spell combinations, then they feel cheated.

As a legend level mage I would just say that.

There isn’t something else to buff.

People wanna minions battling in the board and a class that is an specialist in spell slinging is the exact opposite of that spectrum.

Mages do tricks like stopping you from attack , bring stuff that shouldn’t be there.

If anything i only really can wish for the class some good old hero freezing card and maybe spells that take more than a single turn to happen like demon hunter sigils.

All that card draw results in the class working as double or even triple harder to play than most common stuff but it’s really fun.
