I am excited for agency espionage. And also officially done complaining about boomboss since a soft counter is readily available for it now lol
The weapon buff seems expensive but the extra durability is kinda worth it. I dont like that they gave more weapon support because i dont like the way the sonya weapon decks function. “Make big weapon go face” is not an intriguing strategy for me
Robocaller feels less than reliable since you cant really jam it on curve consistently
That was my initial thought as well a soft counter for boomboss
You won’t be playing this in Rogue for the most part. This is mainly a bigger curve card for BSM or Tess Rogue or something.
Draw 3 on a stick will definitely be playable. Its just gonna be kinda clunky figuring out what turn it will be optimal to drop depending on the costs it gives
The more i think about it, the more i feel like 3 mana draw 3 with a body is just gonna be played in a lot of decks cause draw 3 for 3 with a body is just really good even if you have to be patient waiting to play it
Not to mention if you hit the right card…shadow step, sonya etc stuff exists.
But even if you just tutor 2 cards, it’s great. Or even just 1 specific card. Who cares if you roll 8,9…it’s the 4 in there that gets you Drilly the Kid.
This is a great point. It is a pseudo tutor if you know your list and what it will draw on any given turn which makes it even more appealing
Yeah, and because of this, I think it seems more play than people think.
Maybe not in a max 4 mana deck like Pirate Rogue. But in any deck running 1-6 mana should think about running this.
People are running 4 mana Minstrel to tutor 2 minions on a combo right now…so 3 mana possible tutor 3 cards absolutely is better.
Robocaller is mostly for decks with a well balanced curve.
And nowadays decks there is only one that fits and it is big spell mage.
Robocaller seems very strong. Having access to a 3-mana draw 3 that comes with a body is great. The fact that it can be played in Mage as well (which is the class I think it’ll see more play in) makes it even better.
Sharp Shipment seems like a weird card, catering mostly to Wild. If it sees play in Standard, it’ll be polarizing because the effect doesn’t quite fit. If it does see play, it means there’s a broken interaction.
Agency Espionage is a bad reprint. It would be better if it worked like its predecessor, since cards from the opponent’s class are more likely to match their playstyle, giving you an edge. I don’t understand its cost, it should cost (3).
Portalmancer Skyla is polarizing. There’s no reason this card should have the Tourist keyword implemented. Your chances of winning probably skyrocket if you draw it, and it would be broken even without the keyword.
Burndown is too fair a card to evaluate. It could be 3 mana draw 3, and it would still be fair for today’s game. The downside has no reason to be there. I also don’t understand what deck it sees play in.
Huddle Up has potential. It’s strong.
I don’t think you have to run a 7, 8 or 9 cost to run it.
If you’re running 0-6 mana you should consider running it. It means that most of the time, you will hit 2 cards tutor to draw.
It isn’t tutor Just because you know what gonna be draw.
It is better to Just draw 3 and increase the odds of your next draw be what you need than wait for the card to roll correctly.
This is Just 3 mana draw 3 if your deck has a top curve at 9.
Sure. But you’re getting a 3/2 body here as well.
3/2 body draw 2 cards for 3 mana is insane value. Hitting 3 would be the lottery, but 2 is normal.
As someone who played medlesome servant.
No. It is unplayble drawing 2.
You can’t play that card on turn 3 most of the time.
Entirely different here.
So, Skyla: (still cannot get over the name, lol) and robocaller will definitely be going into my WF meme deck. Not sure what I’m cutting though:)
After about 5 minutes of thinking about and discussing robocaller with you i went from considering it a niche card to thinking it will be run in almost every deck that can play it xD. Its just really good value with upside.
I can even imagine a cycle deck with this and the draw location where you run a relatively low curve with a couple choice big minions and spells and just spam out boards. When your deck is close to empty you just shuffle and keep going.
My question now is if you have discounted cards in your deck like the destroy 2 random minions does it draw them based on discounted cost or original cost?
It should, yes.
When a discount is in your deck, the card counts as that discounted amount. So like when I shuffle in 1 cost copies of minions, you can play draw 1 cost minions and it will draw them.
Portalmancer is uhhh, quite strong.
And it allows some major shenanigans in BSM.
Conman replays your last mage card, which is stupid with orb, tourist can make a tsunami or orb cost 1 very easily with miracle salesman.
The rogue tourist looks like a mixed bag for mage… seems good with conniving conman/seashill … but the play cards from another class cards are kind of useless and I suspect the weapon durability thing will be as well even taking into account the 2 mana mage weapon. Shame you can’t play the coin weapon with the paladin tourist…
I cant for the life of me figure out burndown though…draw 3 and immolate? Is there a mechanic I’m missing where spending 3 mana to draw 1 extra card is worth potentially discarding them?
Huddle up seems fun but most nagas have bad stats.
The rogue cards seem like mostly casino nonsense and pushing that lifesteal weapon deck yet again… but its easily countered by the snake so that set doesnt seem very exciting at all unless you really like your rng decks (and so many people do).
