In 2016 this game was a better product.
The original Zilliax had all that and more and is 1 of the most beloved cards in the history of the game.
A 2018 card that saw play rates over 30% and was never nerfed.
Unity Precision Perfection is for me the most iconic voice line in this game.
Anyway on topic i dont think the conjugation of both those keywords is the problem, old Zilliax is living proof of it.
I think the main issue comes when you release cards that remove core weakness of classes.

GvG that added a lot of randomness in the game
Blackrock that introduced one of the strongest otk of all time. Otk still relevant to this day
The grand failure, such a failure they removed one of its keywords from the game
League of explorers that introduced the discover keyword and Reno
Old gods that introduced a gigantic amount of trash legendaries, and a few OP ones including OG Yogg
Karazhan which was the last expansion to lock its cards behind adventures as the community hated on it
Gadgetzan that introduced pirate and jade decks
All of the above is what was available to play in 2016 and that got trashtalked all along by the community.
Well, I had a much better time in 2016 than I do now.
Every class had a role back then. At least, imo.
They used to have that, for example the class in the botton of the tier list Druid(next to Mage) had a lot of problems dealing with wide boards.
Druids tend to go insane when you give them cards that make that weakness go away.
Not even going to talk about all the classes that now draw better than Mage and can even make highlander cards main drawback a joke.
Yeah, if you ask me, the Highlander restriction doesn’t really exist anymore.
Couldn’t agree more. Across multiple classes Draw/make things cheap is such an easy to do concept now it makes it pointless to abide by the rule of HL. Why muddle up a deck with inconsistency when you can have the best of both worlds?
how are you able to play HL cards on curve on a deck with duplicates ?

make some decks, with your own deck building rules
this vs your friends with those decks

I have no problem with powerful cards.
But when cards start to become Swiss Army Knives, I take exception to that.
If a one card answer is all that is needed to undo ten minutes of gameplay, then what was the point of playing?
