Unholy was the highest winrate deck among all ranks even top 1 legend.
The nerf was more than justified.

Unholy DK was dominating the whole field. Nerfs were justified. It’s still a good deck, there’s just room to breathe now.
Win rate stats show a much better playing field overall since the nerfs. They were much needed.

Pally was tier 2 on 50% win rate at legend the week of the patch. Sure it was obvious post nerf that It would also need a nerf but it did not need one that week.
Paladin decks have been very straightforward/one dimensional to build in recent times. So the cycle tends to be:
- new cards come out/cards get changed
- Paladin deck gets figured out early
- Paladin deck stomps on experimental and janky decks
- Meta gets refined and Paladin drops to T2/3 at high ranks, T1 noob stomper at lower ranks
