Just Wondering If I'm the Only One Here

I have more than enough dust and cards to build any top Meta deck…but I refuse to. Anybody else on this train? I really don’t want to reach Legend for my first time by becoming a sheep and building somebody else’s idea. I actually want it to mean something with something I brewed myself. I’m one of those “I will not join the “Herd”” kind of people and it’s no insult to anybody else who does just look up a website, copy a deck, and zoom to legend.

I was just wondering if I’m the only one alone with this ideal. Looking forward to the rational responses (I’m sure the trolls will come out from under their bridges and the elitists will read this and throw in their two cents but it is what it is).

I have more than enough dust & cards.
But I have no desire to play ranked.

My homebrew decks only carried me until D2, then it’s just a bunch of paladins, warlocks and quest warriors. Then I started playing quest warrior myself and breezed through to legend. Now at dumpster legend the game is much more fun and diverse.

I always craft what I like, not what the meta dictates.

This expansion so far i crafted:
Korrak
Lilian (scholomance)
Scabb hero
9 mana mage spell

I got to the legend with a deck that was not considered meta the first time and it just felt so cool it is possible but you must play it alot and figure out how to beat the other decks.
I also feel the meta was different back then this meta is abit different so i would say it is abit harder now but possible.

I don’t think it’s a bad idea to hand on to the details at, as you’ve mentioned, OP.
I’ll often do this for an entire expansion or two, until a card, or cards, really stick out to me. Both my wife and I play HS, and neither of us play T1 decks.
She plays homebrew wild decks and so do I. Our best rest is Diamond 6, which are am pretty happy with.
I also play homebrew duels decks, and have a lot of fun. I don’t need all of the best cards to build the same deck as all of my competitors.

there was no need to post this
it makes the entire OP look like bait because it looks like this entire thread was made just to insult those who think different

Who cares? Dude is entitled to an opinion just like you.

I think your position is ridiculous.

Sounds like someone couldn’t reach Legendary this season.

Please tell us sheep in the herd more about how bad you think we are. Over here waiting for your next “It’s no insult, but I’m tossing in these sarcastic digs at people.” thread/reply.

Cut the petty prodding, grab a Thesaurus and learn to articulate your ramblings without acting like a donkey.

I’ve never reached Legendary, despite carefully crafting whatever meme deck is supposed to get me straight to legendary.

Slowly climbing diamond ranks is too much like hard work.

As I said: Trolls will be trolls. Elite will act elite. Thank you for your comment but you are politely being pushed to the side.

It’s really nice to see I’m not the only one who feels this way. I’m currently at plat 4. Kind of bouncing between 4 and 5. I love the idea of Frost Shammy. It needs a bit more but hey maybe it’ll get some cool stuff next release.

Thank you for your kind responses. Keep on keepin on.

Do you think that sports athletes train differently than other athletes because they don’t want to train using ideas that work, that their peers train to win titles and medals?

There will always be decks that will perform well and will be meta, that will never change. If you want to be one of those people who refuse to reach legend because they don’t want to play “someone else’s” idea, than you probably won’t be reaching legend for a very long time I’m afraid. And keep in mind that Blizzard made these cards with certain combos to be discovered by the player base.

Just because someone put together a deck that works, it doesn’t make it their deck, They didn’t create the cards, they don’t get royalties for putting a deck together. You don’t see Blizzard calling the deck “SO n SO’s decK”. If you have the cards in your collection to play, use them, play with them, enjoy them, because blizzard created them for you to have fun with.

he made the thread just to call anyone who disagrees with him “sheeps” and “trolls”

that means he believes only his opinion is valid …

The dude has a point. There are a lot of sheep in hearthstone. Thats why in wild all you see is pirate warrior.

I can craft whatever i want.
But i only play for the quests and some times i dont even do that. Solitair is not fun in the long run.

Maybe it is because i used to play Magic, but how do people get so excited winning with a deck 100,000 other people are using? I suppose it is the difference between a collectable card game and a deck building game.

What kind of decks do you enjoy? I climbed to legend this month with a non meta deck that I like, and there are others here who have done the same. Once you get there, you’ll see that there are lots of people in legend who play non meta decks (this changes a bit once you hit top legend). It’s not about ideals, it’s about playing what’s fun for you.

I assumed you would respond as such. Fairly predictable attitude. You call out folks for playing decks you don’t but are incapable of taking what you give. Going to take a lot more than a couple petty insults to “push me” anywhere. All you did was verify everything I said.

That being said, I’m sorry your Theme Park Homebrew didn’t get you as far as you hoped. Your simple, closed-minded mentality is what’s holding you back. It has nothing to do with other players. You’re choosing to play a sub-par deck despite knowing it will not get you there.

Who’s this “you” that you are speaking of? I’ve faced 1 Pirate Warrior in my last 35 games. Seen 8 Mages, 7 Hunters and 6 Shamans though.

As a longtime MTG player, I can see why it happens in Hearthstone. The field is wide-open in MTG. More variety in deckbuilding, strategies and gameplay. Hearthstone is the minor leagues and MTG is the major leagues.

The same is true for HS in wild, but thanks to the insane balance skills of developers, the whole wild meta revolves around 2 stormwind quests
