Well that’s just half of the truth. I got killed once while also having a full board but the insidius flames that drew hagatha just killed the board and then the rest of the asteroids hit my face.
this deck is kinda bad overall and has no chance against any meta decks.
But if everything on top is nerfed than it might appear one day and nobody would like this deck to be meta.
there lot brokens that blizzard is too lazy to address and Asteroid can be easily beaten with aggro deck.
I agree, last night I got lucky enough to play this deck against shaman 6 times in a row. So much fun sitting there watching bombs drop on my head. NERF IT!!

The defense against that deck isn’t armor, but having a lot of stuff on the board being hit. It especially hates shields but also high HP minions.
It’s basically very bad at concentrating damage (it mainly “pisses” chip damage in most cases).
Eruptions are often better than Asteroids.
Why is that always an answer to un-interactive decks?
For years now, the supposed counter is “just play aggro”. A counter is not a solution.
Also, no. I will not play boring repetitive aggro decks just so I can counter one specific deck.
The solution is “just play aggro” because the alternative is putting up with Dungar Druid.
You can’t play control in this meta. Sorry bud. Not with druid ramping into bull crap. You just can’t.
That’s a lie, of course you CAN play control in this meta. How well you will fare is a different matter.
Before the patch it was pretty terrible but after the nerfs the meta became a bit more forgiving. Not great but bearable. I am playing a homebrew control Starship BBU DK and you can play and have some fun. Of course you are a sitting duck against Wheel Warlock and even tho you could theoretically win against control Priest I prefer to concede this matchup too.
Other than that it’s ok. Asteroid Shaman is an unfavoured matchup but still winable. You will crush Nostalgia/Pirate Shaman more often than not tho. Handbuff Paladin, as always, is a free lunch. Dungar Druid is laso in your favour. The rest of the matchups are a toss up.
So no, if you want you can play control and climb.
Does Blizzard “owe” me the opportunity to play control in every meta?
No they do not.
But I will rather stop playing than being forced to play the most boring, mind-numbing, repetitive, uninteresting aggro decks.
It’s not about any debt, just a semi-healthy meta should ideally have all archetypes viable. Playing control in HS is not all sunshine and rainbows but it’s doable even tho, as per usual, there are OTKs out of the wazoo.
Aggro is often bad against asteroid especially if they mix it up with Eruptions. E.g. a flood pala is often wrecked because its low HP minions usually just die.
It’s more defensive to play something like a libram paladin because of its more resilient board even if it’s not the most optimal way to tackle it.
