I don’t know most here but every time we discuss hearthstone people only talk about how the resource management does not matter anything or about some combo that nowadays isn’t even that bad.
If those people don’t like the game and want the same bread and butter as other games why they just don’t quit?
In my opnion most cards on this game in fact throw the traditional paradigmas by the wimdow but they usually replace those with a new softskill and it is fun.
Zilliax making you build your own card?
Renathal decks trying to make you chase for the good side of using bigger decks?
Bringing the sideboard mechanic to a best of 1 format?
Hearthstone is fun exactly because we don’t play always by the traditional fundamentals of a card game and people who aren’t happy with that should really voice their opnion by stop playing.
It is better both for them and for the game.

He said the thing! He said the thing!
So, they are discussing ways to improve the game. Clearly, it’s a sign of someone hating the game, not someone wanting to see the game they like get better.
Fixed that. And…
That’s not voicing one’s opinion.

Yes. Doing something is in fact voicing your opnion far better than talking.

Why do you think the word ‘voice’ is used in the phrase?

Do you think how many people have quit Hearthstone ?
If you do not know, you can guess by looking at the number of people watching Hearthstone streaming instead or you can look up at the declining prize pool of Hearthstone global tournament.
I only see people leave Hearthstone standard mode. I have not seen a new player for a very long time.

It’s a matter of degrees, though.
It isn’t that these things can’t or won’t be fun, it’s that when they take over the entire game people don’t like them anymore.
Take your favorite food and eat it every meal all day and just the same for a month and you will be begging for something to change. Hearthstone has gone too far and is a different game now and it’s widely disliked by the players outside top legend, the ones who pay the bills.
I’m glad you’re having fun, but many others don’t like the direction design has taken.

Either you like something or you don’t, that depends entirely upon the person. Everyone got different taste.

Nope, you can like some aspects of something and dislike other aspects. Life is rarely black and white.

“Don’t like the direction the game is heading? Quit. Don’t try to let the developers know what you don’t like, just leave.”
Braindead.

Look…
At this point if the developers don’t know why some people don’t like then they’re the braindead ones.
To know what is wrong you literally just have to look on who is doing better than you.
No need to absurdly long players essay.
There’s nothing wrong with people who like HS and there’s nothing wrong with people who don’t like HS.
However, there is something wrong with people who don’t like HS but continue to play it. Those people need to seek a therapist asap.

It really isn’t as easy as black and white… There are some good things about hearthstone but then theres a lot of bad things about hearthstone that completely overshadow the good things.
I mean in the end its completely pointless to come here and complain about the game because no one who is going to change the game is taking ideas from here, but sometimes venting can be good.
I imagine the playtime of those who do dislike the current game has decreased a lot… but ‘just quit’ isn’t really advice as the game evolves and sometimes after a patch/expansion the game can be fun again.
Also it probably depends on when you started to play hearthstone… the game now has veered very far from the original design direction.
I do like Hearthstone, and I think most everyone does.
I think many of us wish that designers listened more to the actual players, instead of just themselves and/or streamers.

It’s just a game and shouldn’t be taken anymore seriously than just that… a card game.
It’s however people choose to spend their free time. There are many other things to take seriously in life.

I love hearthstone, its one of the most fun games I play. It’s really all about attitude, I have never gotten to legend and I’ve peaked at diamond 10, and I mostly play just for fun(though I have had moments where I decided to try, hence the diamond 10).
I also swap between wild and standard all the time, and still go and play solo adventures from time to time. In fact, there are only 3 cards I can think of off the top of my head that actually make me mad. Those are 1: Objection, 2: Ice block, 3: Convincing Infiltrator.
There are a couple decks that are super annoying too ig. I call it Bull*** mage, but its just the wild highlander mage deck that runs High magister Rommanoth, Ice block, open the warpgate, and a handful of other cards. Big priest is also super annoying, same with death rattle priest.
That aside, Hearthstone is awesome. It might be difficult to understand an dget into, but I’m f2p and I have a decent collection, with plenty of decks.

I like Hearthstone when it’s good and does things well so if it could just do that more more people would like it. For instance, where is Classic mode? So easy and simple, everyone wants it, no one would be upset for it being included in the game, so where is it? Oh no, people enjoy playing the game with cards they love that they already have, how will we get them to spend money if we give them what they want? It’s stupid and silly. People would like HS if HS liked itself.

I love the game and think anyone taking it seriously misses the point. It’s a big zany/goofy casual card game. Being try hard Spike over it just seems silly to me.
