I always hate MTG Arena because of too many board wipe.

Now Hearthstone is worse.
It only has 2 decks, DH and Rogue.
Plus the decks counter them.
They are all as annoying as hell.

Go check out https://www.reddit.com/r/CompetitiveHS/ and you’ll see that many more than just two decks are playable right now.

just because people post “guys I hit legend with this homebrew deck after 4 years away and six lobotomies” doesn’t mean there are many viable decks

How you you define “viable” if being able to take it to Legend isn’t it?

Just because folks aren’t very good and require T1 decks + someone to walk them through mulligans etc to hit Legend, doesn’t mean that there isn’t a host of viable decks.

Face Hunter, Midrange Hunter (Highlander/Dragon), Enrage Warrior, Tempo DH, Gala Rogue, Gala Priest, Highlander Priest, Highlander Mage, Zoolock, Gala Lock (lackey package), Quest Lock, Murloc Paladin, Spell Druid.

So few viable decks…

You can hit Legend with damn near any refined list provided you play well. If you go off meta it’s even easier as most folks in Diamond/low Legend only understand the match ups they’re used to and struggle to adapt.

I played vs a top decking demon hunter game was over turn 5

Then I faced a top decking Pirate Warrior Wrench Caliber deck. Game was over by turn 5.

I would be playing MTG a long time ago but they still don’t have Mac version vs this simpleton game of flop and drop.

Oh goodie! My next match is a Demon Hunter. This should be exciting. sarcasm. Yep, game over turn 6. Those cards sure line up perfectly in those DH decks.

If you would rather play MTG then play MTG. Don’t try to start up some petty post about how ‘oBjEcTivEly, x game is better than hearthstone because i dont like it anymore :(( >:((’. If Hearthstone is making you angry, then take a break and play something else more enjoyable to you.

Why is there paragraphs of text on MTG cards? The game goes over my head. I even tried watching Thijs play it and if my favourite Hearthstone streamer can’t make it enjoyable for me, no one can.

I haven’t actually played MTG, is this true? My head spinned harder than a Beyblade just trying to play Yu-Gi-Oh, I don’t think I can even fathom attempting to learn MTG.

MTG is not that complicated, just wording does matter in it. More room for people who enjoy crafting decks. HS has no room for that.

I am probably exaggerating a little and the amount of wording would be similar to some Yugioh Monster Effect cards that have a fair bit of text on them.

Because the game is paper based.

They have to ensure both players will understand each effect rather than slap a keyword and have the AI take care of the effects.

You must really like boring decks then because MTG is even more stale after an expansion than it was before the expansion.

I guess if you like fires of invention hand vomit decks and graveyard recursion decks then you’re certainly in a sweet spot and have been for a while now and a while to come.

No, it’s not. Magic may be a better collection game but Hearthstone is far far superior in term of PvP and user-friendliness.

Just balance update speed alone, Hearthstone already blew Magic out of the water. Magic Arena is still a computer game but it is tied into the paper game which limits how fast it can do balance updates.

The best two decks in the game right now are Highlander hunter and egg warrior. What an absolute embarrassment .

Did you see the latest MTG balance announcement? Your post aged incredibly well.

They’re not scheduling balancing for Standard, Pioneer, or Modern; only Legacy and Vintage.
