So many have quit once blizzard made battlegrounds pay to win. Doing it the same week as path of exile came out is maybe one of the stupidest choices they have ever made. I use to love this company now i have no interest even signing in. They have gotten greedy and just want your money like a dumb phone game creator. I hope the pay for rerolls made it worth it for half the players to quit.

They’re dumb like that since Activision took over. Short term profit over long term health. It’s self-harm because they’d get more profits in the future.
E.g. World of Warcraft has 1/10th the players in a world of 10X more internet users (they basically lost 10X X 10X = 100X their potential).
Hearthstone survives with the technicality that the poorest countries have no PCs but they entered the internet with mobile devices.

So if it’s truly P2W then how come everyone isn’t 18K+ rating now? Surly everyone that bought the pass should be at the very top. We should be getting lobbies where we don’t even have to roll we just get everything perfectly each turn.

Nice strawman. You don’t have to be 18K to be p2w. You can be rating 2 instead of 1 because you paid and it’s still pay2win.
It’s not paid to win because you are the Champion, but because you show a better rating than not paying.
Just because a paying player gets 2 extra hero choices and free reroll doesnt mean that have an advantage over you. Just take the oddly bad f2p hero choices and rank up. This is an interesting and humbling season.

Actually they do have an advantage, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t less/more skilled overall. Maybe the advantage is only enough to get them from 6k to 6.3k or big enough to go 7k to 9k, it would be hard(at least for me) to figure out exactly how much benefit in MMR it actually is
But the whole premise is that P2W gives you all the advantages to win all your lobbies. Do you read the countless number of posts on here that profess that they didn’t do as good as the rest of the players in their lobby because they didn’t pay for the pass?
The majority of the players pay for the pass but never even reach 7K. So how do you explain them not getting to 18K after they bought the pass? The answer is that SKILL is the deciding factor in BG’s and not your hero choice.

That’s not enough of an advantage to matter though. YOU just think it is. Stop thinking that and understand that skill ALWAYS trumps whatever insignificant advantage you think hero choice will give you.

Occam’s razor: instead of there being a conspiracy by statisticians: you just don’t want to think your rating would be lower if you didn’t pay 2 win.
You shouldn’t feel that bad about it anyway. So what that your high rating would be like 20% lower: it’s still high compared to others.
I give up on you. you are apparently fixated on some insane belief that paying $20 is how you get a high rating in BG’s and that skill plays little or no part in it.

That is utterly insulting to say my rating is based on paying $20 for a season pass. You are also saying that Jeef and Babbit only reach 18K plus because they have a season pass?
I have LITERALLY watched jeef play a game blindfolded and only being told what was on screen with limited information using the worst hero possible and still got 1st place. His hero selection meant NOTHING in that game.
HSreplay stats are not the be all end all of any game mode. They are a slight guide for new players and nothing more.
Why do you keep vomiting strawmen? Nobody told you rating is entirely based on the p2w elements of the game.

Look, if you are an average player, paying for the 2 extra slots isn’t going to make you above average. You’ll still be an average player but maybe you’ll get to play the heroes you like more. Similarly, I’m pretty sure that RDU or someone can take an account that only offers 1 C tier hero above 15k.
I’m more annoyed that instead of cosmetics, we get…rerolls. Or at least that’s the way it feels (I have no idea of there are usually less or more cosmetics on previous seasons).

None. Then again 99.999999% of players never reach 18K.
There’s a Chinese player that specifically took a new account with no pass last season and ended at a little over 17K. He played it on stream to keep it verified. BG’s is a very demanding format that has far fewer top players than constructed. At the top end you have more to lose with a bad finish in a lobby. I wonder what the ladder in Standard would look like if a top 10 players lost a game and went from say rank 10 to rank 150 after that game. The ladder would be pretty pretty cutthroat in that scenario.
For me i just want the new Animations for winning a round and Legendary portraits. If the pass didn’t offer any new slots and by default the game was 2 slots no rerolls it wouldn’t bother me or effect my game. As it is i actually am supporting the mode i play the most. I do the same with TFT.
