Same thing is happening to me. Just started climbing with shockspitter hunter. Also friends list isnt loading.
I thought it might be my internet connection. I checked that and then started again. Got the error several more times. I tried playing battlegrounds and mercenaries but had the issue with both. I could however, open card packs.
Is there an eta for servers being back up?

I just tried WoW and I can see the message saying some servers are having issues, but no announcement about Hearthstone yet.
at least asia and EU servers are still up
