We get it, priest in hearthstones history has not always been the best class and so these spells have been over looked for years now but the truth is these spells are vastly under-costed for what they can do.
I’m not going to state my case to justify this anymore and just get to the point to say I think these spells should bumped up in cost by 2-3 mana each. Ideally this isn’t a combo that should have the possibility of happening until at least turn 8.

Heck, just HoF Divine Spirit. Inner Fire isn’t bad and can still play off the “high health minion” thing they’ve got going on, but no more DS primers for it.

to be honest if Divine Spirit was just a flat 4-5HP on a Minion that would still probably be playable and a hell of a lot more fair.

I can agree with that. I’d personally rather see something else entirely in it’s place, but 2 mana for +5 health isn’t unreasonable at all for a class that can so easily weaponize said health.

I don’t know if blizz plans on removing it, if you look at current and previous Priest recipes, they use the inner fire/divine spirit combo as a win condition.
Blizz don’t know what to do with Priest in this game they probably consider IF/DS combo as cockroach archetype and it is fine.
I admit though that I played the combo before (raven year meta I guess) but now it just getting old. Probably the reason I play priest in standard as there is no other options in terms of game plan.

If you’re HoF’ing Divine Spirit only, the Priest can still perform but it won’t be as oppressive. There is minions that have naturally high health vs attack that you can Inner Fire or Topsy onto and cards like Beaming Sidekick and Power Word: Shield can still up their health.
I think Priest would still be competitive but without the insane upswing.
HoF Divine Spirit, give them Extra Arms back. Let them be a strong tempo deck with an identity of heal synergy and sturdy minions that can soak hits and trade, without the sudden OTK’s from 30.

Players grow tired of the same oh couldnt kill all the priests minions guess I die again to a 28/28 or 14/14. Its been 5 years of this deck whenever priest is good. Its tiresome.

If Blizzard actually nerfed cards, then this game would be fun and thats not what Blizzard wants.

Divine Spirit has to be the only powerful class card that the folks who main that class ALSO agree needs to be HoF’d. And as someone who used to play a lot of priest I too never touched the combo. Was just an unfun way of playing. Could always introduce more minions that add health to their buddies, bring priest back to a trading and healing up class instead of its coin flip nature it’s inhabiting now. … Or just dragons, that’d be nice again.
This pops up every time priests get access to hard to remove creatures and the meta is light on removals. It is the win con for the class now that mind blast is gone. It punishes decks that play solitaire and passive until they get their own win condition. Removing it would tank the class to unplayable at a high level. The devs have painted themselves into a corner with it. If the meta shifts to more board contention the result will be a decline in the combo.
If they nerf or HoF Priest that’s it for the class. they currently have no other win condition that is viable until Blizzard decides to address the evergreen set and the horrid card pool priest has to pull from in that set beyond that 2 card combo.
I would HoF 10 other cards including the brainless shaman and druid quests before taking another card from classic or basic set away from standard.
Let priest have 1 good card.

Inner Fire needs to be HoF’ed. It’s bad game design. In fact, Priest in general is poorly designed. Wall Priest, Combo,… By far the worst gameplay interactions in Hearthstone are generally with Priest. Total garbage.
And it’s not about losing. Losing to a fun and challenging opponent is fair. It’s the b.s. around ‘brainless’ spells or cards that make people question what’s the point of having great thinking skills.
Just because you want to make a class ‘relevant’, doesn’t excuse the poor class or card design.

Inner Fire is fine, because it allows Priests to leverage their class minions (which have high health) and health buffs into damage, since you can’t generally heal enemies to death. Without Divine Spirit’s doubling effect, Inner Fire is much more reasonable.
Yeah, lets make priest bottom of tier 5 again so we don’t see any of them for another couple of years.
While we are at it, lets kill hunter and warrior classic deck too, because they have been way more oppressive and present during the last three expansions.

The problem here is that you have many way to remove that + 5 life.
Silence, Doomslayer, freezing trap, pressure plate, deadly shot, venomizer, spider bomb, brawl, exterminate (is that the name? the card that killed damaged minion), equality, shinray, sheep, Hex, sap, the plague (fire,wrath, death,) collective hysteria, shadow word death/ pain , etc etc etc . I could probably easily go on for five or ten more lines.
HF/DS is good only because you can kill the opponent or inflict massive damages during the turn it is played. If you just make it a bonus on health, the card will become useless. What’s +5 health on a minion after turn 5? it’s become a dead card. there is so many way to deal with bonus health point. , whats more, you lose tempo by buffing a minion and giving it only health. Extra arms was good because its added dmg and pressure, just adding health against , let say, a control warrior or a quest druid, he can just ignore that for a few turn and kill you once he s got his quest / highter mana cost card.

except combo priest have a high skill cap. But yes the combo is frustrating to play against. Like what the pros say, against combo priest, keep a minion alive means he have a chance to lethal next turn.
We aren’t allowed any because they have to design around IF/DS.
