I’m not sure I get your point, where are you going exactly here?
For the ‘‘smaller dmg burst part’’ : 5 bonus dmg that requires a minion on the board , ready to attack, + another card like inner fire to even work is very weak. Compare it to mindblast or fireball, you ll see what I mean.
Combo priest can do some damage yes, but killing someone with DV/IF requires some commitment. A simple Hex can destroy your 14/14 minions, making you lose THREE cards for one, maybe even more if you had a reborn effect or power word shield on the minion.
OTK combo priest never really was a good deck till this expansion, because it was easy to deny the priest the board as a control class and you would never have the chance to attack with a full health minion. Neferset ritualist and amet grealty improved the archetype because they gave it resilience. What it means basically is that you need more control card to deal with it, or a faster board , like zoo warlock can do for example. Once you have lost the board as combo priest, you usually never get it back. The only way to do a comeback is to use bowsmandi on turn7 and Amet +several small creature on Turn 8 , assuming you’re not dead, or too low on life, or that the enemy board is not too big.
Warrior was only present due to falsely inflated win rates due to people mass conceding because playing a 15 minute game with a 60% chance to beat the warrior wasn’t worth it for a lot of people.
Hunter still needs nerfs and has needed some realistic ones for a long time in just about every variation of their decks.
You know what I mean though, in the last few years they’ve very rarely got enough solid cards to make a range of consistent, competitive decks. It’s just tier 2-3 rez or otk usually with the bulk of each expansion being gimmicks. Some of the cards you listed are long since Wild and if you were writing a list for Hunter you could go on endlessly.
They finally have a tier 1 deck now and Extra Arms has immediately been a victim along with people calling for Cleric nerfs and heck even an Injured Tol’vir (lol) nerf thread now, despite the fact the deck would probably drop a tier and be quite fair, simply from a DS HoF alone.
Do we continue to butcher Priest cards or do we HoF DS and keep printing more like we’ve started getting this set?
Yeah this game has become a joke years ago now. Devs won’t fix it and they do it on purpose to make many people pay then they decide to nerf the broken cards. Cancerous game mechanics should be wild only but you know how Team 5 are… Now we have Shirvallah, Malygos, quest shaman with a Shark as hero power, turn 4 Lense into Mrglllll brainless creatures, mage is still Pepega galaxy or not,Control warrior is still the same armor up BS until Boom on 9… Hearthstone is dead ? No, because people still pay Blizzard to make it more stupid and unfun. I’m done !
I hope they do something with this combo just to make silence priest more interesting. Right now, every time they try making some cheap overstatted minion with a drawback to be silenced, they just end up being perfect targets for DS/IF. I would like to see what they do with silence priest if DS/IF wasn’t on the table.
Alot come from injured blade master and the 2 mana taunt. They are very good early job and synergies very well with the old cards that make such priest works.
Yeah, but 5 health and don’t draw a card is probably equivalent to PW Shield being 2 health and draw a card. 2 mana is way too much to pay for 5 health. I’d rather it be something more like 3 health and Taunt, personally. You could probably pass that off at 2 mana.
DS/IF not realy problem but serious card draw by 1/3 mana minion whit free 0 mana heal spell much more …priest only viable is can card draw easyer whit almost or zero mana spend …if is missing combo not realy powerfull …all you see mastertour bad card draw priest can be lose but when combo endable whit your hand is serious and nonsens draw 8card +use your combo +clear enemy board 2-3 healt minion and made 20/20 minion during this even on turn 5 unreadable! so me option DS/IF stay and lets HOF Cleric!
It’s funny because taunt is worth approximately 1 Stat points based on most taunt minions designs. Giving minion 5 hp is definitely more than 3+ taunt yet one can’t pass off at 2 mana while the other seems okay.
You’re right. But I think those mechanics (swapping and mirroring) need to go. As I watch the Grandmasters, it is ridiculous to see players lose to a Priest because the opponent could only clear two of the three minions on board (because of their large health), only for the Priest then to give it Extra Arms or another buff, then DS, and then TT and land a lethal. It makes the game very not fun to watch or play. This is no skill, it is B.S.
P.S. I’m aware Priest is a ‘reactive’ class, but they seriously need to re-work its mechanics.
You’d have lists as long for Hunter in Standard alone, whereas in all of Standard a Priest can only have 5 resurrection cards in their deck. The archetypes are simply not getting enough support. If we could have /all/ of those cards you listed in Standard, yes, you might have a point, but no. Priest never gets good cards with support.
