Impossible to have fun anymore

The meta is just aggro or solitaire, everything is so linear, there is 0 space for creativity and fun. The powerlevel of questlines and aggro decks makes everything else impossible to play. Every single game feels the same experience you have played before, 0 surprises, everyone just focus on his own thing completely ignoring what the opponent is doing. We are at a point where you dont play minions on the board, unless you play aggro, cause that might just lose you the game. Explain to me how this is any different than Patron Warrior.

This game is honestly at its worst state since 2014 when i started playing. I dont understand why you devs think this is good. This is just freaking awful, it has killed any fun this game used to have. Im just out until they finally realize how bad they have made the game.

I think you are right, but u say it in a bit extreme way. Its really specific interactions that make it an unfun experience. Warlocks questline reward specifically stops any slower strategy from existing and limits the creativity level like really a lot. Quest mage is too fast if you think about the powerful effect they get for low risk high reward play, its not healthy. Shaman questline unlocking overload is another thing that is not fun to play against, but thats it basically.

Besides that you also have to realize if not the majority of people would play these decks, especially warlock, that would open up for many unexplored strategies that this expansion has to offer on paper. Compared to last metas, there is many things that have improved. Faster games are a good thing in general, if it just werent for solitaire hyper aggro mode. Like make the game 2-5 turns slower and majority of people would really enjoy the game I think, but still I totally feel you, there is many strategies currently that are just not fun to play against and make people stop playing the game.

Try Casual instead of Ranked.

As someone playing Casual almost exclusively I’m being 100% serious here. While Casual doesn’t progress the shiny end of month rewards chest, there is in my experience a lot more variety than in Ranked. Yes, you will sometimes face a high tier deck in Casual, but more often than not my experience has been facing meme stuff and homebrews in a much wider variety of classes and decks.

This is what I mostly do. Most end of month rewards aren’t worth the frustration and repetition for me. Since it’s casual I have no problem conceding as soon as I see someone playing a meta deck I’m not interested in fighting.

Yup casual is definitely better than rank right now. And plus it’s less stressful.

The only cons I feel are that people sometimes quit out if nowhere more on casual. But I get it…I can do the same lol also for some reason people sometimes play quest warlock or the hunter cthun bug deck on casual. Luckily it doesn’t happen nearly as often as in ranked.

Control decks, combo, and aggro decks exist in harmony in casual mode.

Really? I get only afks and troll like a shaman Just putting tottens and waiting the rope to burn

Thats what you get when you cant fix the game and make it fun… you get people who afk for xp/ gold in hope that eventually ActivisionBli$$ard will fix it, and at that moment people will have enough gold to buy packs and play the game…

Your MMR must be fairly low. Beat them and you’ll start seeing them less and less.

Even hunters don’t play minions anymore. They all aspire to be mini mages now with very cheap spells,

I would do only-casual play if my entertainment time and money were trivial. Not everyone on here is playing this game with the ethos of being completely at peace with throwing away time and money away from work or other obligations on the grounds that it’s ‘inconsequential’. That should not make love for the competitive elements of the game off-limits, exhaustively unattainable or be otherwise hard to engage without bulk purchases of a la carte materiel. The competitive component of Hearthstone is given entirely to the financially-padded. It was only a matter of time. No one should be surprised this is the current state. A new option will fill this void but it will ask that those with complaints here abandon this franchise and I have no doubt aimless millions will do so. So sad for Blizzard. The staff worked so hard. For years and years.

90-95% of the time (conservatively) I can predict the outcome of the match, 1st turn. This is not due to cards or experience but simply of preference. As an experienced card player of 20+ years, I know you can’t always pull what you need but you can always pull something that helps. The latest expansion has totally destroyed any type of fairness. Its all just exploit SW quests which were made for current season meta but not adjusted for wild play. This is just a continuing theme of bliz throughout ALL of their games, appease the masses bc that’s where mass profit is and disregard the people who make the game what it is. IDK why they are SOOOOOO greedy, it isn’t human, its demonic, any demon would be envious of the greed blizzard/activation possesses.

If you just want to have fun playing a match or two, Casual is by far more friendly on your time and wallet than Ranked.

Casual requires less money and time investment than Ranked. It’s basically throw a deck together and queue up. You quite literally don’t need anything that isn’t already in your collection.

Same here but I largely guessed from match ups and who goes first and then mulligan which can determine. As we speak, I predict I will lose the next ongoing match cos I am going second.

Edit: and I was wrong. For the first time, I won despite going second, thanks to Loatheb.

I agree. Definitely the worst meta so far.

Honestly, i own all cards in this expansion (only the warrior quest missing) and i’m only doing daily/weekly quests, i started instead playing WoW and is much cooler than i thought, is something like Dark Souls meets Warcraft. Here is my character: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/ghostlands/Kíngwa

It’s interesting bc every time I play in casual all I see is the same try hard net decks being played in ranked. No difference what so ever.

Concede when you see them. That will eventually drop your MMR so you’re in line with the other people who don’t play meta decks there.

I will continue to say this. Stop using meta decks and use your brain for creativity for once. Because every “meta” player will always say that. This meta is overpowered, this meta is boring, this meta slow, or etc. It doesn’t matter. What happened to constructed decks and experimenting decks? It seems like creativity is overrated and meta is only way to win.

Casual is just as dumb. People play the same decks in high legend 90%+ of the time.
