Face hunter being the most cheap and broken deck in the game has been going for quite some time. Why is blizzard not fixing this? I’m thinking there is a money kind of issue here. Anyone has an idea?
Depends on a couple factors.
What mode are you playing? Standard, Wild or Casual?
What specifically do you believe needs fixed? Without knowing this, offering an answer is quite difficult.
What makes you think that anything other than money is their motivation these days? The forums are ablaze with insane amounts of players stating their problems with the game. With that in mind, you will only find posts from mods/devs/reps pushing new content and patch/hotfix info that shows their minds are not on players or our concerns. They sure as hell won’t interact with anyone. They ignore us on all social media platforms as well. I even got trolled by a Hearthstone developer when I asked about balance issues on Twitter.
In Standard, it is mid-Tier 2. It is also the easiest deck for a new player to build coming out the gate with zero cash investment, so it sees a lot of play. I know this, because I recently decided to play the EU region on my account and it was a fresh start. Within an hour or so I was able to build a FH deck that showed a >50 win% and just built it up as I progressed and earned rewards. Those rewards pretty much gave me the deck.
The new “Battle Ready Decks” for $19.99USD are going to screw up the entire meta, now that you can avoid the whole “effort and learning” process. These were seemingly their answer to the new player complaints about the grind to get out of the Apprenticeship ranks.
what’s the correlation “cheap face deck” “money”?
My best guess? The new “Battle Ready Decks” that negate the whole process of learning and earning. $19.99USD is typically the sweet spot to sell the higher cost stuff in a game. The whole “Less than $20” sales pitch. I had similar experiences as a marketing specialist for some time. People will scoff at seeing anything $20+ and hesitate on buying. Tell them it’s $19.99 and they stop hesitating. It’s weird, but it has worked for decades.
face hunter - easy wins on low ranks → popular
cheap - less packs needed
popular + less packs = less money for lizzard
P.S. I’m not supporting OP
If he’d said Warrior Pirate I would agree. That is OP and pushing people to buy the mini set.
Fact is, they just put out the mini set and the new Battle Ready Decks, so I highly doubt they do anything to harm the potential sales of either. Their shares are down and they don’t want investors to be upset. Nerfing anything that includes the newest content is going to hurt profits.
The status quo will remain, at least for the immediate future.
