If you don't like what Blizzard is doing--stop giving them money!

Seriously. You can post all the complaint posts you want, bomb every tournament they have on twitch, or post a million memes on reddit, but nothing is ever going to change until you dumb dumbs stop giving them money.

You guys complain and complain and complain, but when the new expansion comes out, you still dropped $80 on it, didn’t you? No, you only spent $50? Well that was still $50 too much.

The only thing these huge companies understand are profits, it’s the only language they speak. Look at the Washington Redskins. People have been trying for decades to get them to change their name, writing nasty articles in newspapers and magazines. But when FedEx threatened to pull their agreement with them unless they changed it, which all told would’ve cost them something like 50% of their income, it took them two weeks to announce they were changing the name.

If the same thing happens here, you can be damn sure Blizzard will start talking then. Give the new expansion a chance, and if you’re happy with the game, go ahead and vote yes with your wallet. But if you’re not happy with the game in 3 months, and they start dangling all those shiny new cards in your face…remember the Redskins.

Well written
Well, some people will argue that they like the game and they don’t want it to die, but, well, maybe it is time to start to count it as a lost thing. That happens in life.

I was happy with Hearthstone until the full ramifications of the Reward Track were discovered/made public by various sites. Thus at the time I purchased the preorder (before the Reward Track as implemented had been fully examined) I had no reason to expect that a few weeks later I would be unhappy with the direction the game has now taken.

Exactly, I’m more than willing to spend money, even waste money on stuff like cosmetics, on a game I actually LIKE. But right now I don’t want to do that for Blizzard.

people have stopped giving them money and left the game thats why everything is monetized and no one earns gold.
for all intents and purposes the game is dead. the player base is not going to grow. there is nothing they can do to reverse the damage. the players they lost wont come back, the new ones dont stay and the ones they have they are driving away.
so play now if you like the game. this is the most players it will have because the numbers will continue to decline. march 2019 there were articles about them losing 52% of their player base across all platforms. imagine how desperate things are for them now.
RIP.

And the latest Activision report (Q3 2020) states Hearthstone has seen significant growth since last year.

“significant” isnt a number. its a word used for window dressing something to make it sound nice without actually giving up the math.

NOTHING in that report mentions users or number of hs players. its a financial report that you obviously didnt read.
HOURS PLAYED saw an increase. nowhere does it mention a “significant increase” in anything.

I’m a f2p that has been playing hearthstone for the last 3 years and altough I completely agree with you I can’t help it. And I think this is the situation of a good third of the players; most of the people who spend money on the game are people who can afford throwing 80 dollars every 3 months in the trash and not caring about it.

Yet I feel sinful. That’s because I still play the game. The only help players like me can give is to stop playing the game, but I can’t get myself to stop. I still enjoy the game, I have fun playing ladder, I am so used to the grind of this game that I can still play daily even if I know I’m wasting my time because in the future I wont be rewarded for it.
Because I think this is all about: the time spent for the game. People don’t quit hearthstone because they spent so much time and so much grind only to ONE DAY play the deck they like and most likely this day has yet to come.

Maybe I went off-topic but I wanted to share this thought. Anyway I hope our playerbase can organize a global strike on the game. If everyone, and I mean everyone stops playing the game for a couple of days. I think we will get what we deserve. But now as you said we’re just protesting with words and not facts.

Haven’t spend a dime on blizzard games since the fiasco that was D3, thing is, there are more than enough idiots with more income than common sense.

If u need proof of this, there is a country with an elected orange clown that somehow got almost half the vote after 4 years of showing why he’s incompetent.
