Idk where this notion came from that I’m upset about any of this. I couldn’t care less whether I win or lose. I’m only interested in the truth.
Oh, dude. Put that one straight back into the deck.
A modest proposal: if you TRULY don’t care about this topic, or the game, or the forums, or me… don’t reply to this topic ever again.
After all, you don’t care, right?
You have really poor reading comprehension. First you say I’m upset. I say I’m not. Then you switch to saying I care. Which I do care…about the truth. My participation in this topic is out of sheer boredom and a desire to do good and educate ignorant people.
I forgive you.
This is funny.
You throw this out here and then proceed to totally miss their point with your allegedly superior reading comprehension.
Which is why you keep ignoring it when it’s presented to you, right?
I don’t know why you guys continually feed the self admitted troll.
How can you understand that this is how they all work, going back to ELO for chess, and not understand that it isn’t unfair and that they don’t have to manipulate matchups for the system to work?
Hell, ELO works just fine even with random pairings at the chess tournaments I went to as a kid. You get smashed by someone way above you, your rating doesn’t go down much.
I missed their point that was both irrelevant and wrong? How dare I. Brilliant addition as always, NG
This is an oxymoron, though. You can’t accurately judge it thusly if you failed to comprehend it, which you clearly did from your response.
Clearly you missed the reference to Swift’s 1729 satire.
Because we haven’t contributed enough flags to get him banned permanently is my guess, lol.
I thought that everyone knew the game was rigged? That’s why we play. It’s the same reason people play blackjack. That illusion of choice combined with coin flips, and maybe some manipulation at the house/company level. I can’t believe this topic has gone on this long without accepting this obvious consensus.
Doesn’t matter. This is his at minimum 2nd account and also posts on his “wife’s account”. They’ll just make another account. This is what they do.
The funny thing is the entire group of them act as if I go around flagging their posts when I’ve never flagged a single one of their posts, yet they constantly flag me lol
The epitome of projection.
Did you imagine you were replying to something else? I was replying to someone who believes that Blizzard Devs micromanage the game to rig it against them with elaborate ways like finding counter opponents; they have to rig nothing to make them lose easier; they can just raise their MMR if they win a little.
The Elo systems (not ELO (it’s a surname)) can be tuned with different K-Factors. Hearthstone appears to be tuned with a large K-factor because it appears easy to lose with a short win streak and vice versa.
I get the impression they have overtuned the K-factor in order to aggressively bring players closer to 50% win rate, though there’s a chance it’s dynamically lowered the more games you play.
I am convinced at this point that the entire “It’s rigged” cult is just 1 person with a bajillion accounts.
Ah yes, I forgot that being a better player means that your draw and discovery is just passively better.
Also: you conflated rating with MMR there. Hearthstone makes you lose only 1 point if you lose and vice versa (usually), but the MMR might be doing large swings under the hood.
If the K-Factor of their Elo algorithm is very overtuned, it may be doing large MMR swings in order to keep the win rate of players as close to 50% as possible.
This should be the new conspiracy. Let’s roll with it and then tell them to prove it’s not true.
This is a case where the overuse of Malfurion avatars in rigging threads caused a mistargeting. I see you’ve helpfully changed to Tamsin already, so you have my thanks.
Not that there are many avatars here to choose from, to be honest, but still:
Ugh…
If of all the available options someone chooses this, I suppose it already tells of… something.
What exactly that might be is another question , but in the meanwhile, I might as well present this little piece, now that you’ve mentioned it: Tamsin 'Mary Sue' Roame.
How strange, I have a 12% win rate with some decks. Perhaps I am exempt.
Anecdotally true, played some Reno DK last night. Went 9-3, a rather pleasant break from the not-so-subtle RNG I’ve been dealing with since the expansion launched.
Played again this afternoon, went 1-7. 1/3 of decks being a hard counter, 1/3 of decks being a mirror with draw/rng favoring the opponent, and 1/3 of decks that don’t quite fit either of those two categories. General bad RNG in all games, even the one that I won.
Surprise surprise I’m sitting at 50% winrate with the deck now. Again, absolutely certain that beyond MMR, you get paired based on your deck and opponent’s deck to help bring the 50% winrate.
