If mage doesn't get nerfed in wild by Tuesday, I give up on wild

Uther is unlikely to see buffs due to the fact that mech paladin isn’t going away anytime soon. Valeera has an infinite value control deck in the N’zoth variant (it can go to turn-limit) and is unlikely to see wild specific buffs for the same reason.

Hey remember how I kept pointing out that playing any kind of non-Mech Paladin is about the most desperate struggle in Hearthstone and everyone on the forum didn’t give two hot sh*ts because “lmao tier 1 mech”

Yeah…

No, I remember you saying Paladin sucks and is bad, and Mech Paladin was used as an example (albeit a tired one) of it not sucking.

I never disagreed that Paladin needed more viable variety, or that it was an absolute travesty that all of Paladin’s coolest, most flavorful mechanics mysteriously receive crap support. I’ve been bemoaning that fact for well over a year now.

C’mon, Bookadin!!

That’s not the full picture.

DH is only weak against other types of Warlocks, Aluneth Mage, and maybe Druid.

It’s not going anywhere without a nerf.

I agree with this. Mage decks haven’t been doing as well since the revisions. Best to wait and see what the numbers are. I can’t help but notice that every single time mage is remotely good players complain until it is nerfed with the result being that standard mage is a joke deck.
Speaking only for myself, I still think there is merit in simply unnerfing all of the wild cards. and let the strongest be the strongest.
I’m betting that won’t be Mage.

8 out of 10 games are mage and most of them are quest/secret mage . maybe it shouldnt work with vargoth
maybe change vargoth to not pe able to cast time warp

Standard Mage being terrible has more to do with the fact that the class is naturally weak to Hunter (which is in turn a class that has received a lot of support over the last couple years). The nerfs to Mage were rightfully deserved (Mana Wyrm would be toxic in the current/upcoming environment and Galaxy/Calling was too good for a deck that hinged on swingy plays/non-games). While the class’s current position in the format is a bit of a travesty I wouldn’t blame it on past balance patches.

On the topic at hand, I’m not entirely convinced the problem is with Vargoth. He’s undoubtedly a great card in combination with the Quest, but if you nerf him then people will just redirect their efforts towards the all-in, Giant/Flamewaker version of the deck that’s been cropping up and it would do just as well. If something needs to be changed post-set then I imagine it’d probably be the Quest itself.

Maybe because anytime Mage is “good” it’s actually “completely unstoppable juggernaut against 90% of any deck you can create because they have the power to completely ignore fundamental design goals of HS which most classes outside of Hunter and sometimes Warrior just can’t answer”?

Whenever I see posts like this I can only imagine the impact it has upon Blizzard as a company.

No matter what time of day or night it is a ‘if they don’t change X I will quit’ thread must send them into paroxysms of frenzy, every staff member called in, board meetings, mechanic testing, QA tests to put it out, server maintenance staff.

Don’t you see how unfair it is that a WHOLE company from the cleaner to the CEO has to stop their life every time one of these threads is made just to keep one player?

It really is unfair of you all, especially the way the world is currently.

These aren’t even the official forums.
Mods are only active if you trigger them hard.
Please. Regular people, especially fresh and small private businesses, have it really hard.
Outrage, whether justified or not, is the only way to reach the devs.
The people here are still right.
And that does not change.

I spent 40 to play razakus priest again. It’s the only reason why I ventured back in wild. I get eaten by quest mage.

that’s a bad matchup dude, even top decks have bad matchups

I disagree. mage has rarely dominated the meta.
Can you recall the last time Mage was tier 1 in Standard? Maybe Luna, which lasted all of a month or so?

So because it’s been a while, we are just supposed to completely ignore Freeze Mage, DK Jaina, Quest Mage, etc.

Mage is trash in Standard.
Wild is Wild. I don’t complain about it. I main Mage in Wild and I get owned by warlock druid and priest. Maybe that’s poor play on my part to some extent, but it can’t all be due to that. I lament the fact that Wild is the only place mage is worth a darn and yet players on here are determined that the class suck across every format.

How would nerfing quest mage have an impact on standard mage?? How the hell are you seriously defending mage in wild, by comparing it to standard. Do you think players only care about standard?

then u gonna find lots of huntards will hunt u down

I’m not comparing it to standard.

…is not an argument.
Remember Snip Snap Warlock?
Or Star Aligner Druid?
Quest Mage is a very strong tier 1 deck. In particular the Reno version.
This, in addition to DH-lock, is warping Wild.
If you have objective points to add to this discussion, please do.
I have yet to see one, that is not of the cesspit-quality of reddit.
