If Classic works for WOW…

….wonder if Hearthstone would work with a similar motif?

A place for non-larded decks of minimalist play? Surely not everyone wants a colossal degree of blubber in a deck? A limit of 30 cards, again? Speed play, perhaps?

And before someone in a fit of nerded rage suggests “casual”, I wind up playing at work pretty often, can’t always allot a mountain of time while folks grunt and strain over which two count card to play in their brand new deck.

Just a thought. Fight the bloat!

They did try a “Classic” format a while back. The problem with that is… well… there’s only one Classic expansion (the old “Basic” Set) which leaves little room for any meta change. Hence the format saw almost no play.

I could see the Pauper format being a thing though. One of the better Twist ideas.

It has, and it was one of the best things to have happened to HS in many years. Then they killed it.

Oh, one more piece of breaking news for you: Naxx has been released. :turtle:

Another piece of breaking news: Renathal hasn’t been in Standard for quite some time.

Before throwing a fit of casual rage, it’s not a bad idea to read at least a wiki or something about game modes. :grinning: Just a thought.

That’s wrong.

The old sets were ‘Basic’ — uncraftable, available to more or less everyone — and ‘Expert’ (EXPERT1 internally nowadays), or subsequently ‘Classic’, which you’d get from Classic packs.

PS Oh, and Reward and Promo cards, of course.

Yeah I forget all the names, it’s been a while. 10 years goes by fast.

I never blamed you for anything, just pedantically corrected the factual part. :grinning:
