I read the boards, and I agree with many about the poor quality of Hearthstone nowadays.
The meta is and has been for many months (years?) in this state of decay. Then they come onto the forums and post a complaint.
In return, they’ll usually get one of these types of responses:
- Well, that Deck is terrible in high legend or some version of that reply.
As though that means the deck is fine so stop complaining. Cause it is ‘lower’ tier for 1-3% of the player base, it is fine.
- Just play a deck that beats that deck.
Winning does not equate to an enjoyable experience. As if the only reason a person plays is to win. Yet imagine a game where you won or lost 100% of the time. Both experiences are not good.
The point is, the anger from the players may be expressed through what they perceive as balance issues/decks, but what it really boils down is the game has lost it’s ‘fun’ factor, it’s flavor is no longer fresh.
It is like eating stale chips while wondering, why am I still eating these? I should just go buy a new bag of chips instead.

it’s the broken RNG with this last patch that did it for me. You either get perfect pulls, or a mulligan or you get royally screwed by turn 2, the rest is just it playing out.

Yes, it is.
At first, there are some signs that the concentration of whales is higher at higher ranks (I saw reddit posts like ‘wow! I see that expensive hero skin for the first time!’ – while I met those skins very often); content makers usually belong to higher ranks; pro players belong to high ranks; devs don’t want to make most of them moving to other games.
At second, it is impossible to reach the balance if it is not a power of the deck that creates imbalance. They can nerf the tier 4 priest, then you will ask to nerf smth like the tier 4 asteroid shaman or imbue hunter, it could be endless.
When the situation
exists in the meta, you don’t need personally follow the advise.
This advise can be read by people who want to win and climb and it will be enough.
They will play the deck that beats that deck and make other people be less motivated to pick “that deck”. It will change the meta, that’s how it should work.
That’s why the existence of “a deck that beats that deck” is a sign that waiting is probably better than nerfs even when “that deck” is really strong at all ranks.
