I dunno, one of the things I like about Hearthstone is being able to just be like “good move!” or “well played!” mid-match. Stuff that communicates this is a friendly match.
Everything the Lich King says, just make him sound like a massive jerk. I’m hoping Arthas or Mograine aren’t quite so much the case, but just something that stood out to me.
Maybe for a future skin or portrait or whatever, maybe a slightly more “friendly” version of him?

Please, no. Lich King is a villain in the WoW storyline bent on killing everything. Why would his voicelines be friendly?
It’s bad enough they removed the “sorry” emote because too many thin skinned people had their feelings hurt by it and now everyone spams well played as their new insult anyway.
There are posts with people complaining about opponents emoting a single “Hello” at the start of the game, because they are sure they are getting BM’d. The animal emotes in BG’s are too much for some people. I think literally anything put into an emote would offend at least 1 person out there.
I wouldn’t mind if the voice lines were more clear though. Unless I’ve used them myself, some of them are difficult to guess what button the opponent is clicking.
Big surprise, the mass murdering sociopath…has voice lines that reflect that he’s a mass murdering sociopath.
I mean, they did the same for the lich queen, surprisingly.
“I give you permission to speak” is always met with squelch.
Did you ever hear Magister Dawngrasp’s voice lines? Every single one of them is condescending, you literally can’t say anything without it being snarky.
This is a fascinating issue.
If the only way you have to engage with another person is through negativity, how do you present yourself favorably? Bad manners and intentions will seep into almost anything you build and hand over to a broad community; some people just thrive off being a bother. Yet you want to be a good sport and pump up who you’re playing with. (Awesome you!)
But… It’s the Lich King. It’s the friggin Lich King! If I were your opponent and you said, with the warmth of a forgotten tomb, “Howdy there!” - Well, I’d do a double take. I appreciate the concern, but to me if you know a player is restricted to only negative responses, it isn’t that they mean to be rude, they’re just engaging in what way they can.
it’s fine that we have a bad guy that tells you to get bendt instead of all heroes being all flowers or edge lords.
I actually like them.
What, do you think Gul’Dan is some pleasant guy doing community service for the poor and the needy? Dude was so evil that his skull was a dark artifact of magic yet he’s still civil with his greetings emote and could say sorry while we still had that one.
Sounds about right for the kind of character they are.

on a more serious note though…go see a psychologue to deal with that issue of your… this kin of behavior is what trigger cowardly ppl to create censures of things(aka catering to overly sensible ppl because they think that affect a large portion of ppl :S)…i loath censures outcomes…ruin everything good and fun

So I get why the LK has the lines he does, but I don’t want to use them and don’t like them.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with them, but it seems like there should be a toggle of some kind to let you have generic “well played” or something.
Dreadlich Tamsin’s “well played” includes the word “cretin” and I find that to be inappropraite. It’s flat derogatory and BM on its face.
Tamsin is evil…she wont give you cuddles and she’s more aggresive than the LK is personnality wise…fit her just fine
there 1 thing this game is missing and its Garrosh being vulgar when he goes up vs Sylvanas XD…could also use an animation of him dropping your hero off of a cliff at the end of a match if he win(just like he tryed to do in that 1 area of WoW b4 a npc stop him)

I’ve always felt that Arthas was an arrogant jerk overall so they seem fitting to me 
I mean, I get that it’s being true to the character.
But Hearthstone is, at least to me, kind of appealing specifically because it’s more lighthearted and friendly than standard Warcraft. It’s not like the Lich King would actually sit down and play a card game with his enemies, so we’re already operating a bit outside the norm.
Even keeping it intimidating, having his “Well Played” emote something like “A cunning play…”, or “You would make a fine champion for the Scourge”, I feel like you could have it a bit more “friendly banter”.
As it stands, I feel like all of the emotes just make it sound like I’m trying to be a jerk to the opponent.
The dude that slaughtered the inhabitants of Lorderon, Silvermoon, and Dalaran is “kindof of jerk.” Hmmm… you don’t say?
