I think the game has gone way too far in terms of effects and stats.
When WitchWood was tried the problem was that the design team only scaled back the power of the new cards they released. I think that all cards should be reviewed and revised.
Witchwood dint work, because the stronger sets where still standard if had kept the lower power lvl for the year after then it couldve actullyl worked, once the more powerfull sets wouldve rotated

Lol. The expansion did not work because Team 5 released lower powered cards while making no changes at all to existing ones.
Players just used the old cards.
They should have nerfed all of the mainstay existing cards and then released the new cards.
For standard, not really/nescarly
Year of raven is same, then if ear of dragon wouldve been simelair power lvl it wouldve been fine, cause year of mamopth (ungoro, frozen throne, kobolds) wouldve rotatated (alongqide the early baku and genn).
The mistake (for standard) was more having year of dragon be on lvl and stronger then year of mammoth instead of something simelair to year of the Raven.
Then without needing to do mass nerfs, that wouldve been the new norm for standard/going forward, all they wouldve had to do was Stick with the lowered power lvl into the next year and wouldve been fine

Well, it’s true. I am. Here i sit knowing that endless power creep and ever more ridiculous effects and keywords is all team 5 is capable of.

I agree fully. I had quit HS before for a few years but came back in one meta that was semi-fun (big mistake!). Sticked around in the hope the team changes etc. would make for a game that is actually fun again, like the old HS.
Instead, with every expansion it gets worse and more ridiculous. The game is so incredibly boring now and them releasing cards like denathrius and kazakusan into the game the way they are/were just had me lose all hope that this team is ever going to make the game fun again.
On top of that they pushed the runestone monetezation out of nowhere and lately seem to be more concerned with adding more skins for you to buy to the store than actually being on top of it with patches etc.
It’s the end of a chapter, HS is done and soon forgotten for me.

I came across this discussion on reddit where people were discussing why the streamer Trump is basically falling off after about 8 years of playing this game, and I think its really on point. I wanted to mention it here, as it also gives another perspective on why this game is really suffering right now.
Below is someones best guess as to why TrumpSC has basically all but quit hearthstone (after 8 years of crazy amounts of content!)
I think it’s more his playstyle’s been pushed out of constructed so he’s probably waiting until the mini-set or next expansion to go again. Kinda hard to play a game if you don’t enjoy it (at least your way).

The idea of “playing around it” doesn’t exist anymore. You order your own plays and try to think how to maximize card draw and mana efficiency, you know your opponent’s win condition, and you know that they have it. It isn’t “should I commit another minion, or play around a board clear?”. It’s “they will clear my board with damaging removal this turn and develop some minions, can I draw enough cards to make another board next turn?”.
This is what happens when it’s normal to draw your deck by turn 10. Both you and your opponent usually have your best tools – hero cards being an exception here, so sometimes you lose because your hero cards was 25th in the deck and theirs was in their opening hand.
I noticed the other day that streamers have completely stopped hand-reading except for super-obvious tells, and it’s easy to see why. Even if your opponent didn’t have the card last turn, they drew 4 cards this turn, so they probably drew it.

There is alot of truth in that. I cannot speak for TrumpSC. I have noticed He doesn’t play the game like He did.
For me, this is pretty much it. I cannot run a straight tempo deck in mage. I cannot run a straight burn deck in mage.
It’s all wanky combos, and OP cards that flip the table.
Game is bad because my decks aren’t FotM anymore. Change or boycott.
Is that your view? 'Cause my favorite deck styles haven’t been a thing in years.
The difference is, you keep on giving numbers to a game mode you claim you do not enjoy.
I don’t spend a penny, AND I don’t play game modes I no longer find enjoyable. Another difference being that I don’t futilely complain WHILE performing an apparently irrational action over and over again, as you’ve so cleverly admitted, yourself.
If anything, that sounds like an unhealthy addiction you have zero control over. The exact kind of consumer/customer Disney, Netlix, Amazon etc. have in spades. And they love it - an everlasting “M-maybe this time they’ll satiate my thirst…!” -phase that never fails to bring in the money, attention and (in)fame.
I’m sure they do love it. And while I don’t see my playing as unhealthy, I will admit that it is an ingrained habit.
And I do occasionally enjoy myself immensely in Casual and Wild.
Standard for me, is a second cousin to Harvey the Rabbit.
Team 4 refuses to give Mage Tempo or Burn, and I refuse to buy another class in order to play those.
Which is precisely what I imagine they are trying to force players to do.
It’s pathetic when even Tales of Tribute (card game within ESO) is more balanced than Hearthstone. A minigame within in MMORPG is better than this unbalanced crap.
It’ll be hilarious if the day comes when only Theotar players remain in this game. They’ll steal each other’s cards all day XD
