HS Mobile: “The game was unable to log you in through…”

The problem:
When opening Hearthstone mobile app on iPhone 13 Pro, the opening loading screen appears. After a while, the text “checking game version” appears at the bottom, followed by “logging into battle.net.”
Shortly after that second message, the CLOSED sign appears on the doors with the subtext “the game was unable to log you in through the blizzard services. Please wait a few minutes and try again.”
This has been going on for a couple days.

Attempted solutions:

  • Uninstall, reinstall app.
    • did not work after trying 5 times
  • restart iPhone
    • did not work after trying twice
  • update iPhone to latest version, the reinstall hearthstone
    • did not work
  • open a ticket on battle.net account. Responded 3 times
    • their solution each time was to send me to the forums. No actual technical help
  • download Warcraft rumble and login there
    • was able to login to my battle.net account on rumble, still cannot on HS
  • login on my PC
    • was able to play HS on my PC with my account. Still cannot on my phone.
  • look for solutions on the forums
    • at least 45 minutes were spent sifting through the forums with no viable solutions found.

My plea:
Please, if anyone has any ideas, please let me know what I can try. I have referenced the forums and tried everything I could think of. I’m baffled at how persistent this problem is.
