The whole selling point of the expansion this 8 cost starship card but with current meta how is even possible to play such a thing. I mean blizzard would have slowed down meta a lot to even make it playable.
With current deck design be so aggressive trying play a high cost card like that nearly impossible now days. So why buy a set where would not even get play card it main selling point.
Why bother spamming threads when it’s clear to everyone and their mum that you’re clueless about the game?
The meta HAS slowed down; many high-cost cards get played A LOT before they were supposed to, or repeated a copious amount of times.
Marin can literally have you playing 30 mana worth of cards for 3 mana
I’m clueless about HS I start playing HS in 2014 what about you because it was a way different experience paired today when come to play high cost minions. Now lucky if you can get past 5 manna or 6 at most. HS is a more aggressive play style than before the old days of HS.
The games are definitely faster on average - no more mill decks, even fatique comes faster due to more card draw and mana cheats; every class has an “inevitability” card which simply ends the game on the spot…
Those are the reasons.
But to say this:
It’s just another proof of being clueless xD
Can’t imagine bigger aggression than playing your cards on curve with the aim of dealing maximum dmg possible, and that part of the game has never changed. What I was doing with a Zoolock back then, I’m doing with Sludgelock, InsanityLock and Painlock nowadays.
I played a lot of decks included zoolock and none of the warlock decks are like new ones are most death from hand not board.
Not sure what you mean here. I haven’t noticed 1 card that OTKs on its own. Combos can OTK and some decks don’t even OTK to begin with.
Did I say “OTK-s” or did I say “ends the game on the spot”?
- Warrior - Boomboss, especially with Brann;
- Shaman - Shudderwock + a whole lot of OTK combos which don’t matter for this point, but still, it works in its favor;
- Mage - Orb; Sif;
- Warlock - Popgar + Crescendo + Sludges (+/- Trogg Gemtosser)
- Druid - Marin into any of the scams into Trogg, but lately even an early Dunbar is enough;
- DK - Helya is an inevitabiliy - you can’t even dream of playing the fatique game against it;
- Priest - Well, not much can be said about this class, but Zarimi is an inevitability, Hedanis is an inevitability and sometimes even Aman’thul ends it;
- Hunter doesn’t exist, but I think it’s fair to say his hero power is enough to be an inevitability xD It literally puts a timer on the game as soon as you begin it, and if it won’t end because of the hero power damage, it will end because it doesn’t impact the battlefield
- DH - idk this class enough to know this and there might not even be one single such card in this meta
- Rogue - Sonya.
Btw, mage and rogue also have a Lamplighter xD
i thought launching a starship costed 5 mana
meh
we had aggro decks for 10 years and they never stoped relleasing late game cards
you just complain just because you like complaining like when you made a thread saying wishing well rogue is OP
Shudderwock is not just one card, same for Sif and others; you are talking combos there; not one card that ended the game. Boomboss is close to what you said (unless it’s a mirror) but I thought you said 11 classes in the game had a card like that and I was wondering what I miss in Paladin.
It’s not exactly a combo, because it doesn’t have to be performed in the same turn for the most of them.
And of those who have to perform it, like Mage with Sif, well there’s also the Orb which doesn’t have to be performed in the same turn as the other spells contained in it. All it takes is playing multiple cards in an exact order, no matter the turns they’ve been played.
Same for Brann + Boomboss. Same for Druid’s Dorian into scam into win. Same for every class.
Oh, yeah, I did forget about Pally, sorry.
I honestly can’t find a single “I win” card here. Pally is all about the board, and when he’s got the board, he’s just snowballing to victory from then on.
Multiple possible ways to reach the same conclusion of the game.
I insist you talk combos and not “cards that ended it all”. In fact I can find a Paladin card in your way of thinking (and stronger than some of your examples), Amitus into a flooded board that gives it lethal or almost.
I repeat, a combo means that two or more cards have to be played in the same turn. For proof, look no further than how Combo mechanic works in Rogue.
This is not a combo, it’s a synergy, an interaction, a tactic. ANYTHING, just not a combo.
It’s a synergy of multiple cards, always
- the 5-mana Rush/location minion is one of the i Win cards, but has to be played with another minion to be utilized properly
- The Weapon + minions to buff, some of which can get quite broken when buffed
- the 2 mana card that summons two reborn 1/1-s is one of the most important pieces of any such synergy, as well, and
- Crusader Aura, enabling the snowballing
Finally, there are also combos, such as AoE discounted clear into summon the 3/3-s into Zilliax or buff a minion into board clear, etc, but those are quite inconsistent and his winrate doesn’t just rely on highrolls like that.
Instead, it’s more about the synergy between the cards played in some specific order.
Just like everything in this game right now.
It’s all about the order!
Reno is going to be the big Spoiler card for anyone building a starship IMO. If that card didn’t exist i could see no issues with trying a Starship strategy in a deck that has lots of survival option. Reno just ruins the entire setup and doesn’t leave the player on the other end of it having a great HS experience.
easy fix for the reno issue is to have it remove all but the middle row for both players
im guessing there is a to be revealed 9 mana star piece i dont know about
ive seen people claim the 10 mana reno will make starships unplayable but i still dontunderstand why
Doesn’t exist in the entire set. There’s a pure 5 cost piece that is the single most expensive in the entire set. There’s a 6 cost that triggers off a Ship being built.
It removes the Starship that is Dormant from the game.
My guess is this Starship thing will become a very powerful effect after Rotation next year. Reno and all the insanely powerful top end cards pretty much all rotate excluding a few.
Is that a fact their giant starship feature gets nuked by reno?
I wonder if that finally gets reno changed because if not thats a funny lack of foresight on the big feature of a new expansion being essentially negated.
Yes it acts just like a dormant card. However it has a trigger on the dormant card to pay 5 gold and launch it onto your board.
Unironically yes
You made this thread because there’s scissors in the next expansion and rock exists, as if that’s a real problem
