Let’s put aside the atrocious RNG determined matches, the bad design, lack of testing decks, etc.
How is this game after all this time still crashing with the “don’t worry your game was recorded” message every 3 games or so on all platforms? Unable to handle any latency whatsoever? Unable to handle tabbing out to a notification or browser for even 2-3 seconds without causing 2-3 turn losses or failing to recover at all? The game is plagued with technical issues that have persisted for years now.
I don’t recall any of this or the bad design in the early years of this game that got me playing
Easily a third year Junior college project… with a lot of passion
The game’s early years are full of “this project is not gonna last long anyway” so they didn’t put much thought into it
The core of the game is too unknown to be redesigned correctly, which breaks a lot of things when they try to redesign core aspects of the game
That’s why it took them years to add the simple function to reorder the decks, because it required to redo a huge part of the entire client to allow it
That’s why the introduction of the core set was the most bugged period the game has ever seen by extremely far
That’s why there are exploits that allow to play, in one mode, cards from another mode that are not even supposed to exist
That’s why PvE puzzles keep on breaking patch after patch
When it was established that the game was gonna last, it was already too late to rebuild a stable core system from scratch
This is why we’re still dealing with years-old issues (Like server disconnects that the game is still unable to detect)
