Does anyone know if there is a way to get classic cards without paying for classic card packs?
You can craft them at this point, I believe? Depends if you mean the Classic cards that rotated to the Wild set now called Legacy, or if you mean for Classic mode. Classic mode cards are tied to Legacy mode cards, I think… it’s a little confusing how they have it implemented at the moment, imho.
The only way to get them is through classic packs. Which you can get with gold. Or you need to craft them with dust.
I haven’t played Hearthstone since the game launched so with all these modes and card sets I am also mega confused. Thanks a lot though. I had not thought about the crafting thing.

Yeah, it’s definitely not intuitive with the way Core and Classic are being handled. They should really improve the collection manager to make things easier to understand. In the case of a card like Tirion, you could actually have 6 distinct copies in your collection (Legacy, Core, Classic, and then the same but in Golden).
The Legacy cards are the same as Classic Mode cards, just sometimes with adjustments (nerfs) If you own a card in the Legacy set, you also own it in Classic Mode.
The Core set is different. Core set cards can be used only in Standard or Wild, not Classic Mode. Also, Core set cards will change every year so you only have them for a year.
