Holy Wrath in Wild NEEDS to be addressed

I’ve been playing non stop since the release of the expansion. Holy Wrath Paladin presents unfun and toxic play patterns that create unfair competitive experience for this format. Either change Holy Wrath to only target minions or please ban it. Changing it’s mana cost will do nothing. A consistent 100 damage to face consistently that can only be answered by two classes effectively is not fair to the rest of the meta.

My opinion is that nothing in Wild NEEDS to be addressed ever

When you start balancing Wild it’s just a never ending cycle of Whack a Mole.

Im finding the holy wrath meta funny because there are some technologies available such as the kobold monk and the jeweler that makes your hero evasive,
that i had never seen them in play. On their own they dont seem enough, but with a good kit of hate to spells you can defeat them…
But i understand that maybe its broken and needs to be resolved.

Are we allowed to say that that’s why we don’t play Wild, Master?

At this point make it cost 4 and draw 2 because next card is shirvalla.
This Will return every time they make a New gigantic cost card if order in the court isn’t nerf in a gross way.

Sorry to inform.

The game is old enough it needs more game modes(that don’t turn on and off) so that players can more accurately use/limit what they play against.

I would break it down into four formats
-Standard(as is)
-Wild(all cards reverted nothing banned, a broken format for broken things)
-Extended

  • Every set and class from 2020 and newer( ashes of outland and newer)
  • This would for simplicity include all Legacy cards, demon hunter initiate (I don’t exactly remember when that came out2019 or 2020) and path of arthus(I know they are cards printed after 2020 but some people would need this explained)

-and the last format “Not as wild” *name pending that would be similar to wild but THEY BALANCE IT(ban cards like sorcerer apprentice or time warp) combos would still exist but if they become too consistent like 69% winrate and/or winning on turn average is better then like 4.20 (too often kind of stuff) the problematic card just gets banned(currently I assume(I don’t care I’m gonna) quasar would be creating this problem)

With all respect.

Pioneer before extended.

Many are just getting BORED in standard being 2 years.

not saying with time we wouldn’t want more formats I’m saying we need a starting point. If you want to make for simplicity my extended called pioneer and then have an extended format that covers 3 or 4 or 5 years I wouldn’t argue; there is however a limited number of players so if too many formats get created could dilute the player base too far

I’m saying the starting point is a 1 year format. It is easy that many in the community don’t want to have to face reno for 2 years and this goes on for many other stuff.

There is more demmand and even more money flowing into that.

Ideally make it 3 last expansions with the core set. No year rotation Just a FIFO system.
First in First out.

These cars should not be played together. Its basically a guaranteed loss when they have these 2 cards WHICH they can have 2x of in their deck. ITS BOGUS. Ban it already - makes for a terrible experience.

This isnt balancing wild…this is addressing an clearly overpowered way to always win. These 2 cards cant be played together…pretty simple or people wont play.

Yeah 4 of my cards shouldn’t revolve around MAYBE playing a deck that can kill me turn 7.

maybe they should make Holy Wrath do the damage of the discounted version of the card, or maybe just take the Spectral Pillager route and nerf the damn thing to not go face. Then you could still Ashtongue Soulbound Silas Darkmoon combo it if you’ve got more time than decency but mostly it wouldn’t be a problem. Then again what do I know.

Can you explain, what exactly is balancing, if not addressing clearly overpowered ways to win? Asking for a friend.

What he said.
Plus 20 character, am I right?

They hit you for 100 damage with 5 mana.

  1. They play minion that makes the next spell cost 2 less.
  2. Next turn they play order of the court (reorder deck highest to lowest) – costs 0 mana.
  3. Then they holy wrath you for 100 damage because 100 cost card is in their deck.

If you they have coin, they can kill you from hand on Turn 4 with 4 mana.

Retry is wrong here because my comment isn’t really about Wild balance. My comment is about whether developing Wild is worth effort in the first place. Developer attention could be placed elsewhere.

There are about 4 Standard players for every 1 Wild player. There’s probably more BGs players than Standard players. I reckon Wild is less than 10% of the Hearthstone playerbase. I don’t harbor any particular hatred towards Wild players but I do think the title of this thread is hilariously arrogant. Not that I want it deleted, but Wild could be deleted tomorrow and the backlash would be survivable. Nothing about Wild is NEEDED. Desirable, maybe.

And that’s not even considering the fact that video games in general are not a necessity.
