Hearthstone's future - New keyword ideas

The newest keyword to Hearthstone from this expansion was outcast. What keyword gameplay ideas do you guys have that would work in Hearthstone?

My favourite addition was the ‘rush’ keyword, which came (in my opinion) as a direct result of the success of the concept in shadowverse who did it first (charge is called storm in that game, and rush is called rush)

Here’s some ideas based off shadowverse:

Crystalize: similar to dormant, except you can choose to play it as a normal minion, say for 4 mana, or if you have less than 4 mana left, allows you to play it for 2 mana in a dormant form.

Enhance: this is the opposite of the above - you can play the card as say a 4 mana minion or if you have 7 mana available, you can ‘enhance’ the card to give it better stats and/or effects.

Any fresh ideas in those heads of yours?

longevity - every turn this minion is on the battlefield it gains +1+1 - simple , yet adds some decision making to go face or trade with all these aggro decks.

I’ll wonder if they’ll use ‘Anima’ for when Shadowlands is released for WoW.

Phase - every other turn your minion goes dormant for 1 turn. This would be followed by an “end of turn” effect in order to make this worthy. End of turn effect would be stronger than usual.

Example:

Phase

At the end of your turn, do 4 damage to a random enemy.

here is another one:

Bounce - At the end of your turn, return this minion to your hand

Using rush and battlecry along with this mechanic would make for some fun interaction.

Slow poison: a random minion opponent will take 1 damage per turn.

that doesnt sound like a mechanic

Skill : RNG is negated for the remainder of this match

Breaker

When a card with Breaker is played, all effects caused by cards that did not start in a player’s deck are silenced. All minions summoned by the use of cards that did not start in a player’s deck are silenced and destroyed.

Background change: just a fun mechanic, or spell to change the background. :grinning:

that means i d get to chooose !

woah that would take a loooog time but it would be a uber buff to many of the cards to be able to choose any of the cards in their pools

like being able to choose any 2 dragons for dragon queen

Tri-winds 3 attacks. I’ve seen ‘Windfury’ which is 2 attacks and ‘MegaWindfury’ which is 4 attacks, but I’ve never seen a ‘Windfury’ with 3 attacks before. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Battlerattle:
It’s like Battlecry, so it triggers instantly, but the minion dies at the same time. :joy:

We have cards already that give you no minion. They’re called spells.

I will admit that Battlerattle could be good for some laughs. I still need to get copies of that explosive sheep I saw in Boomsday Project.

Infest: Choose a minion, when it dies, summon a 1/1, and recast this on a random minion

Wonder why they decided to stop printing cards with ‘inspire’. I mean, they do still have cards with inspire effects such as phase stalker, but it just says ‘when you use your hero power’.

It’s as if they want us to forget that keyword ever existed. I mean, it did exist right? I wasn’t just drunk one day and invent it?

If it’s because it was hard to balance, they could still use the keyword on cards they still print with inspire effects. I believe we have two in standard- dragonbane & Phase Stalker. Both Hunter cards for some reason. Both hugely powerful.

hmm

“counter” minion deals damage from attacks and effects to the source

meaning if its attacked by anything with 4 attack itll deal 4 damage + its attack to the hero or minion attacking it

if is a battlecry / end of the turn or others the minion damaging it takes the same damage too

Here’s one:

Fully loaded - whenever either player overdraws a card whilst the fully loaded minion is in play, the effect gets triggered. The effect could be as simple as putting a copy of the overdrawn minion into the battlefield or heal yourself for X health, gain empty mana crystals, buff the entire hand etc. Works best with Warlock I’d say.

There could also be a keyword for an empty hand.
