We have thosunds of card, you know. but there is not an option for filtering cards like “show only murlocs”, “only elementals” etc.
also there isn’t any option for showing which cards i have more then two. I have 2600 cards means 328 pages of cards and if I want to find which cards i have more than two, i need to look that 328 pages of cards, one by one. unbelievable, don’t you think so?
if you are making a software, please think (or learn) a little -not much but little- user-friendly design.
yes. hidden. and i think these “coders filters” means nothing for most of the players. it isn’t hard to make a frontend for these filtering options. right?
dude i’am sorry but i don’t have a time for learning that codes. i’am using mouse for playing the game and i prefer to handle that filterings with mouse. do i need to use pen and paper and learn all that codes for selling 2-3 cards. i think the way of their suggestions for filtering cards is not user friendly.
I’m not sure blizzard should spend time coding around your desire to not have to touch your keyboard. You don’t need pen and paper. You’re already on a device with an internet connection. Bookmark the page, put it in notepad, or whatever.
Yes, I’d like to not have to type. No, I don’t want them to spend time coding up a new UI when they could spend that time making quality content.
Yeah, but the point is there are already very simple ways to filter your cards. You don’t have time to learn? What? I mean, before Ginger generously posted that link, I was in the dark, too. Bookmark the page, and refer to it while you’re messing around with your collection. In no time you will have it down.
are you are working on blizzard? are you that lazy designers/devs? i am just wanting a feature it will make everything so much easier, why don’t you get the point and why you are defending so much?
As noted, typing specific keywords isn’t that difficult, and once you know how they work, remembering them isn’t all that difficult either. In addition, one thing you seem to be missing is how your filter system would work in terms of UI implementation.
Yes, making a set of filters you can toggle on and off is easy (the Hearthstone card library site has it, after all), but how would you fit it in the Collection UI? In PC, sure, you could maybe make it work by shrinking the size of the collection on screen (although some people might complain about that). But on mobile? There isn’t a lot of space in the collection browser as is, and adding your proposed filters could make navigating the collection a lot less pleasant. Filtering stuff in mobile is kind of a pain already, having to deal with a new set of (redundant) toggles would make it worse.
Is it impossible that we’ll see toggles in the future? Certainly not! But it’s not as easy as you make it seem, not without ignoring UI/UX concerns.
Sure, but what would the layer cover? Because once toggled, this layer has to use screen space previously used by something else. And (again) in mobile, there isn’t a lot of room to work with even if you use a layer to cover some part of the UI.
Madmax makes great points. I’ll add one more thing: It’s not just ease. It’s time.
The current system works fine. Adding something new for people who are allergic to their keyboard and/or their memory does not improve the app for the vast majority of the players.
They can add something that does very little or they can fix bugs and add new content.
