The audio plays fine but the game’s graphics stutters along rather than play ‘smooth’. This all started Friday morning. The laptop is relatively new (August), everything (drivers etc) is up to date and I’ve gone through the list of things to check.
EDIT: Part of the problem was the laptop was preferring the intel chip over the graphics card for w/e reason, sorted that out easily. Updates was another issue. Worked fine today.
I’m experiencing the same problem since the latest update. Windows 10, gaming PC high end, playing in Windowed-Full screen mode. Very choppy.

I’m having the same problem. HS BG have been lagging for me(and for two of my friends who I usually play with) for a week or two but today the game was unplayable because of the lag.
I noticed that the lag spike happens every other second (30 times in a minute).
The game was unplayable, for example I had about 10 seconds to play one card but I couldnt do it because I could not select the card or the game picked the wrong card…

Same thing happening here since the latest patch… every time i open or play the game it runs at seemingly 5 FPS, and will crash after a little while. My specs are more than capable of handling the game, and in the meantime i have been playing games that are way more intensive and demanding with 0 problems. I have an NVIDIA 1070 card, Intel i7-8700 @ 3.2 GHz, 16 GB RAM, etc.
I have tried: uninstalling and re-installing both Hearthstone and the Battle.net Launcher, changing the priority for both in the Task Manager, disabling the Windows Security Antivirus/Firewall, running a repair scan for the game files, changing from Windowed to Fullscreen and vice versa, updating all my drivers, changing the game settings on the NVIDIA control panel, running as administrator and compatability mode, etc. Nothing has fixed the issue

I did all the steps listed here (i cant post links so fix the .com part :D) ^^, I did them basically all at once so I couldn’t pinpoint exactly which one fixed it but good luck!
The other thing that isn’t mentioned here that I did was fixing the broken Battle.net icon on my taskbar. Probably due to the uninstall–>reinstall of the launcher, when I would open the Battle.net app, the icon would be a blank, white, paper instead of the blue Battle.net logo.
I tried trevconjon’s link and apparently resetting hearthstone in game setting from bnet launcher helps (still not smooth but the game is “playable”)
