Curse owns Hearthpwn and the reason, as of today in late May, has not been given as to why it is shutting the site down. It sounds like many of the top people involved with Hearthpwn are booting up a new site which is intended to be even more feature rich than Hearthpwn. This site is called Out of Cards and it currently is in beta.
I’m not a tinfoil hatter myself, and I’m also not deep into fan site stuff either so I don’t know hard back end facts to anything. I have my own major issues with ActivisionBlizzard and the direction they have been taking their company and what they are doing to treasured IP’s in their quest for the all mighty and greasy mtx dollar.
But in this case, to call the shutdown of Hearthpwn a sign of HS dying or declining is false or possibly premature. It may very well be that HS is in decline but until reasons are made public that parallel cannot legitimately be drawn.
