There’s always a bunch of talk about ways that non-meta’s and homebrewers can enjoy the game without the tedious process of friending others who like it also or, worse, having your deck get slaughtered by the many wolves of this game that will have you already beat before you even see your cards. Say what you want, but there is a large audience of players who would enjoy the option to play a deck they find fun and to have a chance to actually win with it.
The only solution I can come up with is if the game offered guilds. This would be a tab that lists clubs you can submit a deck to, and has an owner who must first review it, then allows it to be viable in their channel. Naturally, they can promote moderators who can also do such approving. Once a deck is submitted it would not be able to be altered again, you would have to submit another one. Optimally, the moderators would be able to message the submitter why their deck was denied and highlight which cards make it problematic.
Fun channel names would be a must!! This way when you log into HS and are not in the mood for the usual playmodes you can instead pull up your Guild tab and pick from such channels such as:
-
Disco Lock Inferno
-
Yo Ho, Yo Ho Rogues ONLY
-
General Off-Meta
-
Control Nation
-
Freezy Shamans
-
Wild Hand Buff Enthusiasts
etc. etc.
Yes, I am aware this would be a whole overhaul of the game’s client, but I think it would bring a really fresh feel back to the game and not let the dozens upon dozens of memey cards to go quietly into the night as they pretty have been. Thoughts?
