I’m a casual; I just come and go sometimes. My goal is just to experience rather than reach the top.

When you play against the same 4 decks that use the same exact strategy to cheat out 20+ mana in minions on turns 4-5, there isn’t any fun to be had.

There was a time where a meme deck could steal wins from tier 1 decks or just do some cool stuff to make it a close game. A game where every popular deck is slamming three 7+ mana minions around turn 5 kills any space for creativity.

Here is the heart of the problem. If you want to climb with a deck in the meta you have to ask 2 questions. Can this deck hold up to a turn 4, 5, and possibly 6 Tsunami? No? It is now a bad deck since a huge portion of the meta is BSM. The second question you must ask is if it can survive a turn 4-6 Dungar/Pipsi. No? Then it is also a bad deck. These two styles of play have choked the life out of diversity of strategy.

It may be un fun when you realize everyone mains the same bloody sniper or playstyle, but my way to bring the fun back is to play something that counters those filthy Lone Rangers and Widowmaker mains so hard they never wanna use them again and hopefully make room for more inspired opponents. Take it from a Hamster main, for every mfer with a scope out there, there will always be at least one turtle immune to headshots somewhere out there. For every board addicted paladin, there will always be a Warlock shooting at the fish in the barrel

Games so far today.

Turn 4 Tsunami
Turn 5 Tsunami
Turn 5 Yogg
Turn 6 Tsunami
Turn 6 Yogg
Turn 6 Dungar
Turn 4 Tsunami
Turn 5 Ziliax
Turn 4 Khadgar who cast 2 perfect spells
Turn 5 Tsunami

I can hardly contain my excitement.

Not really sure why there is ever a tavern brawl anymore…every single game is just tavern brawl. Its the most low skill, high-roll, casino/speedrun meta there has ever been. The amount of people on the HS reddit linking screenshots of “first time legend!” within the last six months speaks to this.

It’s pretty true at this point. The game boils down to who does RNG favor. There’s only so much you can do to deal with it. Once you you know to pilot your deck and how your opponent’s deck is piloted and what to expect, the only factor that will decide your victory is pure chance. And thanks to discover mechanics, you can’t even prepare or know what to expect in some cases.

No no, you’re supposed to be having fun while your opponent plays solitaire against you and you can do nothing about it.

no one is forcing you to play ranked, just play casual, if a deck you dont like shows up just concede, it not like you lose anything

Been that way for a long time, pretty sure the majority of the regulars are ex-MVPs or just actual blizzard employees. Either way, they’re quick to attack legitimate criticism.

Remember, if you come into a discussion criticizing those who dislike the game, don’t be surprised when they respond similarly to your praise.

Everyone has the right to express their feelings about the game, whether positive or negative.

When criticism is met with hostility, it just perpetuates a cycle of hatred.

Looks to me like a fun, interactive and mostly balanced game, especially after their recent patch, which was so thoughtful and well crafted

I truly do not understand why people are defending the company so hard. The game has been boiled down to the same mana cheating tactic across all classes. Every class seeing any meta success all follow the same exact design. Mana cheat. If you think it is fun, that is fine, but let’s not pretend that the tactic takes any skill or forethought. I see so much misplaying in legend that is it honestly frustrating. People missing lethal, people missing that I have lethal, and playing things out of order. All of these ultra higher powered cards make it so that misplays can literally not matter. It is wild.

Quite literally 99% of the games I have played today Marin/Yogg/Ziliax/Tsunami completely and utterly overpower anthing that happened the turns before.

Am not disagreeing with anything you said, it’s just the way it is currently. But the fan boys out there will cheerish for it, no matter what. Next expansion could be: turn 1, both roll a dice, the higher number instantly wins. Mini set will just be new dice design and the fan boys will cheer again.

You guys should be fair and notice that we’ve always had similar decks, but we used to call them “midrange”

However, as meta gets faster and faster each expansion (well, at least by SOME criteria, not all though), midrange has to merge with aggro and/or control, which is exactly what we see in 2 versions of BSM

BSM to this meta is what painlock and Gaslight Rogue used to be in the Reno warrior meta few months ago

You always had lots of stats getting scammed early, even from mage from time to time

And I think it’s fair, considering mage is usually stronger the later in the game she is, to get a slightly faster deck this time around.

I’ve fully embraced it.

Yes, when your MMR was lower, people didn’t have access to good information, and the game in general was populated by low information, poor players.

It had nothing to do with the power of the game, it was about the lack of the involved players.
