How will earning basic cards and their golden equivalents be handled once the new core set is implemented? I have yet to hit level 60 with Demon Hunter, and some of the cards/golden cards granted will no longer be included in the core set. Will those cards still be granted to players, with the cards only being useable in Wild, or will new cards from the core set take their place? If that is the case, will there be a way to still acquire these cards/golden cards without spending crafting resources?
I believe you are correct, that is why I’m trying to cheese out a few levels on classes that I don’t usually play right now, since my average level is about 40 with the off classes, I believe I still have time to acquire about a quarter of the missing golden cards if I play pretty hard out. With more notice, I would have gotten all of them to 60 instead of trying to get the 1000 win portrait on mage.
Your class level only matters until level 10. At level 10 of a class, you’ll unlock all the core cards for that class. After that, it’s wins that you need with the class in order to unlock the golden versions. 500 wins with the class will unlock all the class Core golden cards.
Right, except it’s unclear about getting the current basic golden cards that will no longer be in the basic core set once the rotation occurs. For example, as it stands now, at levels 58 and 60 on Demon Hunter, one unlocks golden versions of Inner Demon, however, after the new core set is implemented, Inner Demon is no longer a part of the core set and will have gone onto Wild. So it’s not clear if the only way to acquire that card, and even it’s non-golden version, is via crafting resources or whether it’ll continue to be granted, but just not useable in Standard thereafter.
I submitted a ticket to support regarding this and they suggested I post here as they were not yet informed how this would be handled.
Everyone will receive all the golden Basic cards once they unlock Wild, again regardless of class levels.
Including cards no longer considered to be part of the basic set? That’s the issue. The basic set has cards leaving it, and it’s not clear how to earn those if you haven’t hit the required levels before the rotation.
Basic and Classic are becoming a new set called Legacy. Basic Cards will then become craftable; after the change the only cards you will unlock via class levels will be from the Core set.
I’m assuming the rotating Basic cards will also be added to Legacy card parks, but haven’t heard that officially confirmed.
