Game does not start, deadlock

I was playing a match when the game started to act weird, actions were happening but I could not see the animation, so I disconected and tried to open the game again, after that I could not open the game anymore.

The top right corner message displays the code:
netcacheprofilenotices =0;netcachedecks=0;netcachecollection=0.

the middle screen message says:

Your game timed out as it was requesting data from the hearthstone utility service. Please relaunch Hearthstone to reconnect.

After that it is on a deadlock, same message all the time…

Hey there Acidwolf,

That is quite frustrating to not be able to see animations and in an effort to fix it, disconnect and not be able to connect again. The error described is usually due to a connection problem, yet damaged files or interfering programs may also be to blame.

Based on what was described, I am thinking a connection problem, but the following can still address damaged files and rule out a network or ISP issue.

First is just to see if we can force the login information to be updated in case it’s corrupted. We can usually force that to be updated by launching Hearthstone in another region and switching back. The Blizzard Application is used for that. Just select Hearthstone and above the PLAY button is a Region/Account menu. Select a different region and then launch the game. Assuming it works, just quit the game and switch back to see if things work then.

There is a folder where damaged files may cause a problem. Deleting the folder can help. I don’t know if you have a Windows or Mac system, so I have steps for both below:

Mac:

  1. Press CMD + Shift + G to open the Go to folder
  2. Navigate to ~/Library/Preferences/Blizzard folder
If there is no Blizzard or Hearthstone folder, show hidden files and folders by pressing CMD + SHIFT + .
  3. Delete the Hearthstone folder.

Windows:

  1. Press Windows Key + R
  2. Type in %localappdata% and press enter
  3. Go into the Blizzard folder
  4. Go into the Hearthstone folder
  5. Find the Cache folder here and delete it

Lastly one way to rule out a connection or network issue is by trying another network or connection entirely. Trying a hotspot or tether with your phone should show different results.

Edited to fix my mistake flipping Mac and Windows steps. My apologies and thanks for catching that.

You have the Windows and Mac title swapped.

in regards to what Irontorne bluepost stated, the portion where they say talk about the steps to do with windows and the mac, they actually meant it reversed like Fuschia mentioned.

hopefully they edit the post.
what they meant to say was:

Mac:

  1. Press CMD + Shift + G to open the Go to folder
  2. Navigate to ~/Library/Preferences/Blizzard folder
If there is no Blizzard or Hearthstone folder, show hidden files and folders by pressing CMD + SHIFT + .
  3. Delete the Hearthstone folder.

Windows:

  1. Press Windows Key + R
  2. List item
  3. Type in %localappdata% and press enter
  4. Go into the Blizzard folder
  5. Find the Cache folder here and delete it

restated it this way for anyone who has the same problem that may see this thread. hopefully Irontorne double checks this thread to fix the mistype

I just now saw this reply. My apologies everyone! I have edited my original post to reflect what was intended.
