Whoever thought it was a good idea to have frozen minions still attack needs to be fired, it’s the worst oversight of a mechanic I have ever seen.

It’s not an oversight.
Frozen minions miss their next possible attack.
Attacking means that the controlling player selects that minion and declares an attack.
Frozen minions can still be forced to attack or attack because of an special abbility.
You are taking “Frozen” to literally. It just means “The next time the player could select that minion for an attack they have to wait until their next turn.”
Please, it’s beyond stupid. If something is frozen it should not be able to attack, this is it how it used to be when HS was a actual good game.

And how much sense does it make that silencing a minion makes them become unfrozen? Why would silencing remove ice?
Because it is a card game and those things are applied through status effects and buffs.

Its a magic effect. IT makes sense that silence would remove hte frozen aspect. Something frozen CANNOT MOVE. But hey, its hearthstone and some things that SHOULD make sense, don’t.
