This problem has been solved entirely, at least for the PC version of the game. This thread can be closed as it is no longer relevant.
Donāt worry just spend 9000 dollars and then Blizzard will fix the Squelch button. They couldnāt do it because they are too busy counting their own wealth.
Auto-squelch is still broken!
