I’ve been hoodwinked by Rogue’s starting out bad in an expansion only to become kings of the meta once they have a refined deck too many times to say Rogue is bad yet. Like seriously, we’ve gone through this song and dance many many times already.
That’s why this whole predicting stuff is a hype and should not be taken serious and yes maybe rogue will be better again, but it’s obviously not as good as people expected it to be.
I don’t think that’s something that can be determined yet. There’s nothing immediately and obviously broken this expansion (Which is good! Glad we finally had one where it doesn’t seem like they’ll need to make an emergency patch after the first week for a change) but like I said, Rogue tends to not be super hot until people get a handle on how to play it.
Rogue’s identity this expansion is also heavily centered around combo, which isn’t a straightforward mechanic to work with. Maybe they aren’t good, but it’s also very likely that someone just needs to find the correct way to play them and the class will start climbing up the ranks.
That’s a lot of copium for not being able to get angry about Rogue warping the meta!
Just be happy.
I’m going to have to disagree and ask if you’ve actually played any games of standard since the expansion was released? There’s a stack of things that are broken, starting with triple blood dk.
Potions and secrets are going to do just fine.
It’s the only control deck that’s doing good within the meta, and you want to nerf it. Are you serious?
If it were up to people like you, the entirety of the game would be nothing but aggro, which it already is.
Please don’t nerf the 78% win rate control deck? Sorry, no, it needs a nerf. Just because its the only day 1 meta control deck doesn’t mean it is immune to nerfs.
And its not the only control deck. Why don’t you go learn how a current control theif priest deck works? Maybe go look at big warlock? Blood DK is not the only one.
Out of 15k games it’s sitting at 62%, try again.
Do you really not see an issue with a deck having over 60% in the first place?
Let’s remove pure paladin as well, while we’re at it. And unholy dk as well. Frost aggro. Outcast DH.
Realistically, yes. That deck is also an outlier and too strong.
I didn’t stop at one.
You did, you edited your post.
And that is disproportionally high. I agree it is context-dependent but a meta where control is king is a seriously boring meta. It is not the only thing that should be nerfed but it absolutely should. It not only does control anymore. It does quite a bit of board play now too thanks to Banshee, egg, location, etc; and it is showing an all-green matchup spread except to secret rogue (a borderline meme deck). If that is not nerf material I dunno what is.
So many other decks above 60 percent winrate, and you focus on blood dk.
So are all the other aggro decks.
This doesn´t seem like a healthy deck to me as things stand now. All the other tier 1 aggro decks have Blood DK as a bad matchup with a few weaknesses here and there. Blood DK is keeping them all in check, but that doesn’t mean it is not a problem. We will soon have a mostly Blood DK ladder and that meta is a lot more miserable than an aggrostone meta imo.
edit: data from diamond to legend, all regions.
Now hit player experience 50, diamond through legend for consistency, for festival of legends, and then hit win rate, and tell me what you see.
Triple blood is S tier. There is not a single deck in the meta that reliably beats it. Well… unless you wanna go the love everlasting + sister svalna control priest rout. Then you have a counter to triple blood control by throwing an even greedier control deck at it. The 50 minute games remind me of dr boom control warrior mirror matches… grindy slug fests of throwing wet noodles at each other for eternity.
Paladin is the uncontested king of board development. Outcast demon hunter is overtuned and pretty broken in its own right. They’re so far ahead of the curve its not funny.
Triple blood, paladin, and demon hunter are all probably getting nerfed in 2 weeks.
The insta like from limebeast is icing on the cake to this comment lmao.
Heaven forbid we use prior experience to inform out expectations.
